Our client is a real estate credit platform that is now scaling out its lending operations. This role will own the execution and operating layer of the lending business — the seat that takes a deal from approval to funded and builds the systems that make the whole program scale.
Responsibilities
- Quarterbacking loan closings coordinating internal teams, external counsel, borrowers, and third parties through to funded
- Designing and scaling loan origination operations, templates, checklists, vendor network, communication systems, version control
- Contributing to the lending box, underwriting guidelines, and credit framework
- Building a roster of third-party vendors and deciding what stays in-house vs. outsourced
- Optimizing competing objectives: speed, credit, customer experience, cost, and ultimate value to borrowers and capital partners
Experience:
- 10+ years in real estate, finance, or capital markets
- Meaningful experience in direct asset-backed lending — at a specialty lender, debt fund, bank, or comparable platform
- Strong credit and structuring chops, with comfort analyzing complex transaction documents
- A track record of building scalable systems and processes from the ground up
- Sound judgment on when to make a call, when to escalate, and when to push through ambiguity
