Our client a mission-driven healthcare organization in NYC is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to oversee and lead all financial operations across the organization. Reporting directly to the CEO, this executive leadership role will play a critical part in driving financial strategy, operational excellence, compliance, and long-term organizational growth.
This position requires a hands-on financial leader with strong healthcare and/or nonprofit financial management experience, ideally within a community health center, FQHC, hospital, or multi-site healthcare environment.

• No remote flexibility

Key Responsibilities:
• Lead all financial operations including budgeting, forecasting, accounting, payroll, purchasing, AP/AR, and financial reporting
• Oversee Finance Department leadership including Controller, Revenue Cycle, and Payroll functions
• Manage grant and government contract fiscal operations and compliance
• Develop organizational and departmental budgets while monitoring overall financial performance
• Oversee reimbursement activities including Medicaid, Medicare, managed care, and commercial insurance
• Prepare financial analyses, cost reports, Board reporting materials, and executive presentations
• Ensure compliance with all regulatory, tax, audit, and reporting requirements
• Serve as a strategic financial advisor to the CEO and executive leadership team
• Manage insurance coverage, purchasing procedures, and vendor contract negotiations
• Build strong relationships with funding agencies, external partners, and internal stakeholders
Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, CPA, or advanced finance-related degree preferred
• Extensive financial leadership experience within healthcare, nonprofit, FQHC, hospital, or community-based healthcare organizations
• Strong knowledge of grants management, government funding, reimbursement systems, and healthcare financial operations
• Experience overseeing multi-functional finance teams and driving operational improvements
• Strong analytical, leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, mission-driven environment with high visibility and executive interaction
