Job Description summary:
The Senior Specialist, Business System Owner (Non IT) serves as the primary business steward for designated enterprise systems and platforms. This role ensures that systems meet business needs, operational requirements, and compliance standards. The Senior Specialist acts as the bridge between end users, process owners, and technical teams—championing improvements, managing enhancements, and ensuring the system delivers consistent value to the organization.
Key Responsibilities
1. System Ownership & Governance
- Serve as the primary point of accountability for assigned business systems, ensuring stability, reliability, and business alignment.
- Define and maintain system governance processes, including data standards, access controls, and usage policies.
- Monitor system performance and user adoption; drive continuous improvements.
2. Business Requirements & Process Optimization
- Gather, refine, and validate business requirements for system changes and new capabilities.
- Recommend solutions that enhance operational efficiency, reduce manual work, and strengthen user experience.
- Translate business needs into functional specifications for technical teams.
3. Enhancement & Change Management
- Prioritize enhancements based on business value and risk.
- Coordinate with IT, vendors, and cross-functional teams to deliver new features or updates.
- Lead UAT planning, execution, and defect management.
- Maintain system documentation, SOPs, and training materials.
4. Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as a strategic partner to business stakeholders regarding system capabilities and opportunities.
- Proficiency in system administration, configuration, and user management (non-technical, business-side).
- Skilled in requirements gathering and process documentation (BPM, flowcharts, RACI, etc.).
- Experience with UAT, system upgrades, and cross-functional project delivery.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Operations, Finance, or a related field.
- 5–8+ years of relevant experience in business operations, finance operations, system ownership, or process management
- Experience managing enterprise platforms (e.g., CRM, ERP, workflow systems, RPA, High Radius, Esker, Blackline) is a strong advantage.
- Strong understanding of demand planning, requirements gathering, and change management processes.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to analyse data and system behaviour.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
