Position Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of Mexican Corn Product’s executive leadership team and is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the finance and accounting functions. Reporting to the CEO, the CFO will play a critical role in shaping the financial strategy, ensuring fiscal discipline, and enabling profitable growth.
The CFO will act as the primary liaison with financial institutions, Revenue Canada (CRA), insurance providers, and other external financial and regulatory stakeholders. Internally, the CFO will collaborate closely with Operations, Sales, Human Resources, and compliance teams to improve financial performance, enhance process efficiency, ensure regulatory compliance, and mitigate business risks.

Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
· Provide strategic financial input to support overall business decision-making, growth initiatives, and long-term planning, including the development of financial dashboards and reporting tools that will improve visibility across all departments
· Participate in executive-level discussions on operational performance, capital allocation, pricing strategies, and cost control initiatives.
· Advise on mergers, acquisitions, capital expenditures, and other strategic investments.
Financial Management
· Lead the timely and accurate preparation and analysis of financial statements, management reports, forecasts, and budgets.
· Oversee all core accounting functions and controls, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, reconciliations, and month-end/year-end close to ensure accuracy and consistency
· Oversee the development of key performance indicators (KPIs) to monitor business health and profitability.
· Ensure compliance with Canadian GAAP, tax laws, and corporate governance requirements.
Treasury & External Relations
· Serve as the principal contact for financial institutions, lenders, leasing companies, and banking partners.
· Manage the company’s cash flow, credit facilities, foreign exchange exposures, and capital structure.
· Maintain effective relationships with insurance providers, regulatory bodies (CRA, IRS), and external auditors.
Operational Efficiency
· Oversee the ongoing optimization of financial systems, reporting tools, and business processes.
· Work with operational teams to analyze costs, pricing, and margin opportunities to drive profitability.
· Implement internal controls and risk management practices to safeguard company assets.
Compliance & Risk Management
· Ensure full compliance with federal, provincial, and U.S. regulations related to taxation, financial reporting, payroll, and transportation.
· Identify and mitigate risks, including financial, operational, cyber, and insurance-related exposures.
· Lead the annual audit and tax planning processes, including cross-border filings and reporting.
Qualifications & Experience
· CPA (CA, CGA, or CMA) required. An MBA or advanced finance degree is considered an asset.
· 5+ years of progressive financial leadership overseeing a full accounting function, ideally within the food industry.
· Familiarity with Canadian GAAP/IFRS reporting, taxation, and regulatory frameworks.
· Strong understanding of ERP systems, financial modelling, and data analytics tools.
· Business-minded with the ability to think strategically and contribute to broader planning
· Hands-on, collaborative, and entrepreneurial spirit – thrives in a dynamic and team-oriented environment
· Proven experience leading a team, interacting with executive stakeholders, and managing external relationships.
· Exceptional analytical, organizational, and communication skills; high integrity; strategic thinker with hands-on operational execution capability.

Pay: $50,000.00-$150,000.00 per year
