Position: Finance Head
Location: New Jersey
Key Role Features:
• Partner to CEO & Board, managing small core finance team with support from an offshore/shared services finance center.
• Responsible for end-to-end finance activities: accounting, controls, compliance, planning, cash flow, financial analysis, decision support, and regulatory filings.
• Must have strong hands-on capabilities, as this is not a “big team” oversight role.
• Requires advanced knowledge of IFRS ,US GAAP, local taxation, audit practices, and compliance with US federal/state FMCG sector regulations.
• Strong business acumen in FMCG/cross-border business structure, profitability analysis, margin improvement, and working capital management.
Core Responsibilities:
• Act as key strategic advisor to CEO on all financial matters: funding, growth initiatives, product pricing, cost control, and business operations.
• Ensure regulatory compliance: accurate, timely filing of federal, state, and local returns; management of audits; and adherence to all reporting requirements.
• Coordinate with shared service teams on transactional finance, but be able to “roll up sleeves” for critical local operations and regulatory processes.
• Lead financial and business planning, budgeting, and scenario forecasting.
• Drive cash flow management, margin improvement, cost-saving initiatives, and risk assessment.
• Prepare board/presentation packs, analyze KPIs, and recommend business improvements.
• Liaise with external auditors, lawyers, bankers, and tax advisors as required.
• Stay updated with changes in financial laws and FMCG-specific compliance, including FDA, FASB, and import/export rules if relevant.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's/Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field (CA ,CPA or MBA strongly preferred).
• 12 + years’ progressive finance experience, with minimum 3–5 years in an FMCG or fast-moving environment, preferably with shared services exposure.
• Deep working knowledge of IFRS , US GAAP, tax, audit, and compliance.
• ERP system proficiency (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite); advanced Excel and dashboard reporting.
• Excellent communication, analytical, and project management skills.
Summary:
This role is for strategic finance leader comfortable in a lean FMCG business with US operations, who can leverage shared service support but is ultimately responsible for all local compliance and finance leadership.
