Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – Los Angeles, CA
We are seeking a strategic, finance-oriented Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join a growing engineering services organization in the Los Angeles area. This executive will serve as a key business partner to the CEO and executive leadership team, driving financial strategy, operational performance, and long-term growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the company's financial strategy, planning, forecasting, budgeting, and cash flow management.
- Partner with the CEO and business leaders to drive profitable growth and support strategic initiatives.
- Develop financial models, KPI dashboards, and performance metrics to improve decision-making.
- Proactively identify financial risks, operational challenges, and underperforming business areas, and recommend corrective actions.
- Oversee FP&A, treasury, financial reporting, and accounting functions while leveraging an established accounting team.
- Monitor project profitability, resource utilization, and overall business performance in a project-based environment.
- Support executive leadership on acquisitions, investments, capital planning, and other strategic initiatives as needed.
- Ensure compliance with financial reporting requirements and maintain strong internal controls.
- Lead and mentor the finance organization while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Must be based in or able to work in the Los Angeles area.
- Executive finance leadership experience as a CFO or senior finance executive.
- Experience in engineering services, AEC, construction, consulting, government contracting, or another project-based business is strongly preferred.
- Strong expertise in FP&A, financial strategy, forecasting, budgeting, cash flow management, and business analytics.
- Demonstrated ability to partner with executive leadership and influence strategic business decisions.
- Finance-oriented leadership style with a proactive approach to identifying risks and improving business performance.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting, with experience overseeing month-end close and audit processes.
- CPA, MBA, or other advanced financial credentials are a plus.
