Position Overview
West Coast Trial Lawyers is seeking an accomplished Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our Executive Leadership Team.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced financial executive to help shape the future of one of California's leading personal injury law firms. Reporting directly to the President/CEO, the CFO will serve as a strategic business partner responsible for driving financial performance, operational excellence, and long-term organizational growth.
We are seeking a leader who brings more than technical accounting expertise, someone who can transform financial data into strategic insight, build scalable financial infrastructure, and partner closely with executive leadership to support continued expansion.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the firm's overall financial strategy and long-term planning
- Oversee all accounting and finance operations, including FP&A, budgeting, forecasting, treasury, cash flow, and financial reporting
- Develop financial models, executive dashboards, KPIs, and profitability analyses that support data-driven decision-making
- Present financial recommendations and business insights to executive leadership.
- Strengthen internal controls, improve financial processes, and identify opportunities for operational efficiencies
- Lead, mentor, and develop the Accounting and Finance teams while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement
- Partner cross-functionally with Operations, Human Resources, Marketing, Legal, and Executive Leadership to support strategic initiatives
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (CPA strongly preferred)
- MBA or Master's degree preferred
- 10+ years of progressive finance and accounting leadership experience
- Personal Injury or Litigation Law Firm experience strongly preferred
- Executive-level experience as a Controller, Director of Finance, Vice President of Finance, or Chief Financial Officer
- Deep expertise in:
- Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A)
- Budgeting and Forecasting
- Financial Modeling
- Cash Flow Management
- Executive Financial Reporting
- GAAP and Internal Controls
- Strategic Financial Planning
Compensation: $175,000-$200,00 annually
