Head of Business Operations
Company: Perleybrook Labs Private Limited
Website: www.perleybrook.com
Location: On-site, Kochi, Kerala, India
ABOUT THE ROLE
Perleybrook is entering the next phase of its journey — from an innovative, founder-led company into a globally scalable Industrial AI business. Our flagship platform, Flagman, brings computer vision, machine learning, and edge computing to industrial safety and operational efficiency across manufacturing and logistics.
We are looking for a Head of Business Operations to build the systems, cadence, and execution discipline that make this transformation possible. This is not a narrow functional role. You are the person who makes sure the whole company runs as one business — that plans get made, commitments get tracked, and things actually get done across departments. Think of this as the company's business integrator.
You will not run Manufacturing, Engineering, or Sales — those stay with their respective leaders. Your job is harder in a different way: making sure they work together, and that what the company commits to is what the company delivers. When priorities collide or execution stalls across functions, you are the one who untangles it. The role is deliberately broad, and it will grow as the company does.
WHAT YOU'LL OWN
Operating Rhythm
Run the cadence end to end — annual and quarterly planning, monthly operating reviews, weekly execution reviews — and hold the organization to it. Turn strategy into a sequenced, resourced plan that people are actually accountable to.
Business Intelligence & Decision Support
Build the dashboards, KPI frameworks, and performance reporting that give leadership a single, trusted view of how the business is doing. Support the CEO and COO with the numbers and analysis behind key decisions.
Cross-functional Execution
Be the connective tissue between Production & Engineering, Sales, and the operational teams. Break blockers, surface trade-offs early, and make sure hand-offs between departments are clean and fast.
PMO & Business Operations
Build and lead the PMO and business operations function, with Customer Success & Service, Commercial Operations, and Operational Excellence & Business Systems reporting into it. Partner closely with Finance and HR, which report to the CEO.
Process & Governance
Put in place the structure a growing company needs — SOPs, decision rights, and management reporting — so the business scales without losing control.
Business Systems
Drive deeper, disciplined adoption of our existing ERP and MIS, and improve them incrementally alongside CRM and other core systems. The goal is tools that genuinely change how people work.
AI & Automation (Internal)
Champion the use of AI and automation inside the company to raise productivity and efficiency — practicing what we sell.
Customer Delivery Coordination
Make sure what Sales sells, Engineering builds, and Field Operations installs comes together into on-time, high-quality customer outcomes.
Operational Performance
Track budgets and operational costs, and drive steady improvement in throughput, productivity, and delivery predictability — without compromising quality or safety.
Ways of Working
Help build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement as the company grows from tens to hundreds of people.
SUCCESS IN THE FIRST 12 MONTHS
Within your first year we would expect you to have:
• Established a company-wide operating rhythm across planning, reviews, and execution
• Built working KPI dashboards and reliable reporting for leadership
• Put scalable governance, decision rights, and SOPs in place
• Visibly improved coordination between Sales, Production, and Customer Success
• Strengthened operational and financial visibility across the company
• Improved delivery predictability and customer satisfaction
• Driven deeper adoption of the existing ERP/MIS and core operational systems
• Built the foundations of a strong business operations team
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
• 8–12 years of experience in business operations, operations management, program management, or general management, including experience leading teams
• Background in one or more of:
Industrial Automation, Manufacturing, Industrial IoT, Industrial Electronics, Enterprise Hardware, SaaS, or Technology Operations
• Hands-on experience with PMO, operational excellence, business process improvement, or business transformation
• Comfort building processes and systems where none exist — you've done this before, not just worked inside someone else's structure
• Strong analytical and financial skills; fluent with data, dashboards, and business metrics
• The ability to influence and drive outcomes across teams that don't report to you
• MBA or equivalent business grounding is a plus, not a requirement
HOW YOU WORK
• Ownership — You take responsibility for outcomes, not just tasks, and you move toward problems rather than around them.
• Systems Thinking — You see how the parts of a business connect and design for the whole.
• Influence Without Authority — You get things done through credibility, clarity, and follow-through.
• Rigour — You bring discipline and data to decisions, and you separate signal from noise.
• Bias for Execution — You close loops, hold the line on commitments, and make decisions stick.
• Builder's Mindset — You're comfortable with ambiguity and enjoy creating structure that lasts.
• Pragmatism — You balance speed with sustainability and know when good enough is the right call.
NICE TO HAVE
• Experience in a hardware + software company (IIoT, Edge AI, or similar) going through a founder-to-professional transition
• Having set up a PMO, Business Operations, or Operational Excellence function from the ground up
• Experience driving ERP/CRM adoption and continuous improvement
• Exposure to multi-site or international operations
• Previous startup experience, or having founded or run a business of your own in a related field

Partners Closely With

WHY PERLEYBROOK
This is a chance to help build a company, not just fill a role.
Perleybrook is at the point where a strong founding vision becomes a real, well-run organization — and the person in this seat will shape how the whole business operates.
You'll get genuine ownership: a broad mandate, direct access to the CEO and COO, and the freedom to design the systems and rhythm that turn plans into results.
Flagman sits at the intersection of AI, computer vision, and industrial safety — a market where the work matters and the technology is genuinely differentiated.
The scope of this role is expected to expand as the company scales, and we're looking for someone who wants to grow with it.
We're looking for a builder who wants the accountability — not someone waiting to be told what to do.
