For our client, we are seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join the team of a leader in the Education, Government & Non-Profit space. This role will lead continuous improvement work focused on process discipline, productivity, and measurable operating gains. You will partner with operational leaders and project stakeholders to standardize workflows, identify bottlenecks, and improve execution quality. The position offers the opportunity to create measurable efficiency gains and scalable operational improvements within a mission-driven environment.
Location: Oakland, CA - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available
Compensation: $300,000 – $350,000 annually
Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO and leadership to develop and execute a mission-aligned financial strategy
- Identify opportunities to modernize financial tools and processes
- Design and implement advanced financial models for strategic decision-making
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement to enhance effectiveness and transparency
- Lead annual budgeting, planning, and forecasting with cross-functional teams
- Monitor financial performance and offer actionable insights
- Oversee financial compliance and risk management
Qualifications
- MBA, CPA, or equivalent experience preferred
- 12+ years of progressive financial leadership, especially in complex or growing organizations
- Proven track record in financial transformation and system implementation
- Experience managing diverse funding streams in a blended revenue model
- Strong grasp of data, technology, and analytics in financial decision-making
