An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced finance leader to join a prominent SGX Mainboard-listed manufacturing group during a pivotal period of transformation and growth.
Reporting directly to the Group CEO and Executive Chairman, this role will serve as the organisation's most senior finance executive, providing strategic and operational leadership across the Group's finance function in Singapore and Malaysia. The successful candidate will work closely with the Board and Audit & Risk Committee, driving improvements in financial reporting, governance, systems and operational finance while helping build a stronger platform for the company's next phase of growth.
Depending on the successful candidate's experience, the appointment may be made at either Group Financial Controller or Chief Financial Officer level.
This is a highly hands-on transformation role suited to an experienced CFO from a small or mid-sized organisation, or an accomplished Group Financial Controller or Finance Director looking to step into a broader leadership position.
What you'll do
As the Group Chief Financial Officer / Group Financial Controller, you will lead the Group's finance function while driving finance transformation initiatives across multiple business entities. You will be responsible for strengthening financial governance, enhancing reporting capabilities, improving operational finance processes and building a high-performing finance team.
Working closely with senior leadership, you will play a key role in improving business performance, supporting strategic decision-making and implementing scalable finance systems that will position the organisation for long-term success.
- Key responsibilities
- Lead the Group finance function across multiple operating entities in Singapore and Malaysia.
- Take ownership of the Group's monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting, ensuring timely, accurate and reliable Group consolidation.
- Oversee statutory reporting, SGX compliance, management reporting, Board reporting and Audit & Risk Committee reporting.
- Lead the annual external audit process and manage relationships with auditors, regulators and external advisers.
- Improve the monthly closing process, financial controls and reporting timelines to enhance the quality and reliability of financial information.
- Drive the implementation of a new ERP platform, acting as the finance business owner throughout the implementation lifecycle.
- Develop stronger financial systems, reporting capabilities and business intelligence to improve visibility over financial and operational performance.
- Strengthen manufacturing finance by enhancing product costing methodologies, inventory controls, margin reporting and working capital management.
- Improve cash flow forecasting, treasury oversight and financial planning to support business growth.
- Assess the current finance organisation, identifying opportunities to strengthen team capability through restructuring, recruitment and process improvements where required.
- Establish robust governance frameworks, internal controls and finance policies that support sustainable business growth.
- Partner closely with operational leaders to improve business performance, cost management and decision-making across the organisation.
- Support strategic initiatives, including finance transformation, business expansion and future acquisition opportunities where applicable.
- Present financial insights and recommendations to senior management, the Board of Directors and the Audit & Risk Committee.
What You Bring
To succeed in this role, you will be an experienced finance leader who combines strong technical accounting expertise with the ability to drive organisational transformation. You will enjoy working in a hands-on environment where you can build processes, improve systems and develop teams while partnering closely with senior business stakeholders.
You are practical, commercially minded and resilient, with the ability to balance strategic thinking alongside detailed operational execution.
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or a related discipline together with a recognised professional accounting qualification (CA, CPA, ACCA or equivalent).
- Proven experience leading the finance function within a manufacturing, industrial or asset-intensive organisation.
- Previous experience as a Chief Financial Officer, Group Financial Controller, Finance Director or senior finance leader with responsibility for the full finance function.
- Strong technical expertise in Group consolidation, financial reporting, statutory reporting and audit management.
- Practical experience supporting SGX-listed or other publicly listed company reporting requirements is highly preferred.
- Demonstrated success improving finance processes, governance frameworks and financial controls.
- Hands-on ERP implementation experience, ideally leading finance transformation projects from planning through implementation.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing finance, including product costing, inventory management, working capital optimisation and operational finance.
- Experience building, restructuring and developing finance teams through periods of organisational change.
- Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage confidently with Boards, auditors, regulators and senior business leaders.
- A collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence, mentor and develop high-performing teams.
