As part of its continued growth, the Group is seeking an exceptional Group Chief Financial Officer (Group CFO) to join the Executive Leadership Team and provide strategic financial leadership across its global operations.
Position Summary
Reporting directly to the Group Chief Executive Officer, the Group Chief Financial Officer is a key member of the Executive Leadership Team and serves as the principal financial adviser to the CEO and the Board of Directors.
The Group CFO is responsible for the overall financial stewardship of the Group, ensuring sound financial management, disciplined capital allocation, robust governance and sustainable value creation across a diversified multinational portfolio.
The role provides leadership across all finance functions, including corporate finance, treasury, financial planning and analysis, accounting and financial reporting, taxation, mergers and acquisitions, investor relations, enterprise risk management, internal controls, finance transformation and shared services. Working closely with business leaders across multiple countries, the Group CFO will support strategic growth while ensuring strong financial governance and operational excellence throughout the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Financial Leadership
Lead the development and execution of the Group's financial strategy in alignment with its long-term corporate objectives. Partner closely with the CEO, Board of Directors and Executive Leadership Team to support strategic decision-making, evaluate new business opportunities and optimise capital allocation across the Group's diverse portfolio.
Provide commercially sound financial advice on investments, expansion initiatives, portfolio optimisation and business transformation while balancing growth, profitability, liquidity and risk.
Financial Management and Business Performance
Provide overall leadership for the Group's financial planning, budgeting, forecasting and performance management processes. Establish effective financial reporting and performance measurement frameworks that enable timely, data-driven business decisions.
Drive improvements in profitability, productivity, cash generation, working capital management and return on invested capital while promoting financial accountability and operational discipline across all business units.
Treasury, Capital Management and Corporate Finance
Develop and execute the Group's capital management strategy to support long-term growth and maximise shareholder value.
Oversee treasury operations including liquidity management, banking relationships, foreign exchange exposure, interest rate risk, cash pooling and funding across multiple jurisdictions. Lead capital raising activities, project financing, refinancing exercises, sustainability-linked financing and other strategic funding initiatives.
Financial Reporting, Governance and Compliance
Ensure the integrity, accuracy and timeliness of the Group's financial reporting, including statutory reporting, financial consolidation, Board reporting and management reporting across all operating entities.
Maintain strong financial governance and internal control frameworks while ensuring compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (International), applicable accounting standards, taxation requirements and regulatory obligations in all countries where the Group operates.
Business Partnership
Partner with business leaders across the Group to improve commercial performance, operational efficiency and long-term value creation.
Provide financial leadership on major commercial decisions including pricing, investment evaluation, contract negotiations, productivity initiatives, capital expenditure, operational improvements and business transformation programmes.
Investments, Mergers and Acquisitions
Lead the financial evaluation, structuring and execution of acquisitions, divestments, joint ventures and strategic investments.
Oversee financial due diligence, valuation, transaction structuring, financing arrangements, post-merger integration and synergy realisation to maximise investment returns and support the Group's long-term strategic objectives.
Financial Leadership Across Business Sectors
Provide strategic financial leadership across the Group's core businesses.
For the real estate business, oversee financial management of development projects, land acquisitions, investment properties, project financing, asset valuations and portfolio optimisation.
For the shipping business, provide financial oversight of fleet investments, vessel financing, chartering economics, operating costs and capital expenditure planning.
For the industrial engineering business, support financial management of manufacturing operations, engineering projects, supply chain finance, project profitability and contract governance.
Enterprise Risk Management
Partner with the Board and senior management to strengthen enterprise-wide financial risk management and governance.
Oversee financial, market, liquidity, credit and foreign exchange risks while ensuring appropriate insurance programmes, internal controls and business continuity measures are maintained across the Group.
Investor Relations and External Stakeholder Management
Develop and maintain strong relationships with shareholders, financial institutions, investors, analysts, auditors, regulators and external advisers.
Support the CEO in communicating the Group's financial performance,
strategic direction and capital allocation priorities to the investment community while representing the Group in significant financing and corporate transactions.
Finance Transformation
Lead the continuous evolution of the Group's finance function by leveraging digital technologies, automation, artificial intelligence and advanced analytics to improve efficiency, strengthen governance and enhance business insights.
Champion finance transformation initiatives, enterprise resource planning systems, shared services and data-driven decision-making to build a best-in-class global finance organisation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or a related discipline.
- Professional accounting qualification such as CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent.
- MBA or postgraduate qualification in Finance or Business Administration will be an advantage.
Experience
The successful candidate will possess at least 20 years of progressive finance leadership experience, including significant experience in a Group CFO, Regional CFO or equivalent executive finance role within a large multinational corporation or diversified business conglomerate.
Candidates should demonstrate a strong track record of leading finance organisations across multiple countries and possess substantial experience in capital-intensive industries such as real estate, infrastructure, shipping, industrial engineering, manufacturing or investment holdings.
Experience in capital markets, treasury management, mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, financial transformation, enterprise risk management and international taxation is essential. Candidates should also possess significant experience working with Boards of Directors, Audit Committees, financial institutions, regulators and external investors.
