Company Description
Reporting to two CEOs, you will be a member of the Executive Leadership Team of two exciting, private equity-backed portfolio companies.
Process Control Holdings (PCH)
PCH is the holding company for ManuFlo. ManuFlo was established in 1965 and is the leading manufacturer and supplier of flowmeters and batch controllers to the concrete industry in Australia. The business predominantly provides mission-critical process control instrumentation to the ready-mix concrete industry and has expanded over time into other applications, including trade waste, irrigation and resources. In 2021, a controlling interest was acquired by VitaPoint Partners and Altiora Capital.
Specialist Media Holdings (SMH)
SMH is an Australian publisher with two divisions: trade and consumer. The trade division produces publications for the travel and pharmacy industries. Mastheads are published daily, distributed digitally and include Travel Daily, Cruise Weekly, Travel Bulletin, LATTE, LATTE US and Pharmacy Daily. The consumer division produces print magazines and digital assets for the travel industry. Publications include Signature Luxury Travel & Style, Vacations & Travel, Holidays with Kids, and Caravan and Camping with Kids. In 2023, a controlling interest was acquired by VitaPoint Partners.
Both companies are unlevered and well-funded, with an investment mindset and clear growth objectives. Both have strong core businesses in Australia and New Zealand and are pursuing overseas expansion and innovation-led growth strategies.
Role Description
PCH and SMH are small businesses with simple, largely automated finance functions. We are not looking to build out a finance function. We are looking for someone who can efficiently and effectively run two straightforward finance functions while spending most of their time contributing to earnings growth and business improvement.
Variety is a core feature of this role. You will be responsible for:
- Day-to-day transactional accounting, including bookkeeping, payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and tax compliance. Given both businesses are small and simple, with good levels of automation, this is not expected to be a time-intensive part of the role. It is, however, yours to do rather than to delegate or oversee
- Financial and management reporting to provide insights to the ELT and Board
- Managing debt finance (if required)
- Originating, evaluating and executing M&A opportunities
- Preparing both businesses for a liquidity event
- Identifying and implementing technology and process improvements
- Supporting the leadership team to evaluate investment opportunities, execute projects and manage delivery
You will be expected to split time equally between Brookvale and Macquarie Park. This is not a work from home or hybrid role.
This role is ideal for an intelligent, hard worker who can roll-up their sleeves and do the ‘basics’ of the finance function and is excited to apply their business acumen to grow our businesses.
Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant
- Big 4 (or equivalent) experience in Audit, Insolvency and Restructuring, Transaction Services or Corporate Finance
- Minimum of 8 years’ work experience. More experienced candidates also welcome
Remuneration and Perks
Salary of $180,000 (excluding super) plus a short-term incentive of up to 40% of base salary.
A genuine seat at the table with two CEOs and private equity-backed Boards, and direct exposure to strategic processes and growth initiatives that would take years to reach in a larger organisation.
