A leading nonprofit behavioral health organization is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join its Senior Management Team and partner directly with the President/CEO on financial strategy, operations, and organizational growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cash-flow management
- Oversee annual operating and capital budgets and financial analysis
- Manage grant budgets, reporting, compliance, and funding requirements
- Oversee annual audits and maintain strong internal accounting controls
- Lead billing, collections, revenue recognition, and receivables performance
- Partner with senior leadership and the Board Finance Committee on long-term financial planning
- Provide financial oversight for capital development and improvement projects
- Identify opportunities for new funding and capital resources
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field
- CPA and/or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of progressive nonprofit finance experience, with at least 3 years in a similar leadership role
- Experience with complex nonprofit funding, fund/grant accounting, and Federal/State grant compliance
- Experience with Medicaid and Medicare audits
- Strong financial leadership, communication, analytical, and organizational skills
- Experience working in Connecticut or a neighboring state nonprofit environment preferred
