Job Summary
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a key member of the Senior Leadership Team and serves as the primary financial strategist for Sacred Heart Greenwich. The CFO reports to the President, works closely with the President’s direct reports in academics, enrollment, communications, advancement, and operations, and maintains regular contact with the President, the Chair of the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees, and the full Board. The CFO is responsible for all aspects of fiscal management, including financial planning, budgeting, investments, accounting, reporting, and ensures the school’s long-term financial sustainability while aligning fiscal strategy with mission-driven priorities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Finance, or Accounting required; MBA/CPA preferred.
- 10+ years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in an educational or nonprofit setting.
- Strong business judgment, analytical and strategic skills.
- Proven success in managing teams, budgets, and complex financial operations.
- Familiarity with independent school or nonprofit finance, regulations, and reporting standards.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills.
- Proficiency in financial management software, and Microsoft Office suite.
