An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Chief Financial Officer & Company Secretary to join a high-growth, ASX-listed technology business headquartered in Brisbane.
This is a genuinely broad executive leadership role, partnering closely with the Managing Director & CEO, Chair and Board across finance, governance, capital markets, investor relations and commercial strategy.
The business is entering an important phase of international growth, and the CFO & Company Secretary will play a key role in ensuring the organisation has the financial capability, governance framework and commercial discipline to support that growth.
What makes this role interesting?
This isn't a traditional finance leadership position.
You'll have the opportunity to influence the broader business — from capital raising and investor relationships through to strategic planning, commercial agreements, risk management and ASX governance.
You'll be a key adviser to the CEO and Board, while also leading the finance function and ensuring the organisation maintains the highest standards of financial reporting and corporate governance.
You'll be responsible for:
- Leading the company's financial strategy, reporting, forecasting, budgeting and cash-flow management
- Working closely with the CEO and Board on business strategy, investment decisions and growth opportunities
- Supporting capital raising, equity/debt markets activity and investor relations
- Managing the company's ASX reporting and Company Secretarial obligations
- Partnering with the Chair and Board on governance, Board papers, AGMs and corporate actions
- Providing commercial input into strategic partnerships, licensing, IP and major contracts
- Overseeing audit, tax, treasury, risk and financial controls
- Supporting the continued expansion of an international business
- Leading and developing the finance team
What we're looking for
We're looking for a commercially minded CFO who is equally comfortable in the Boardroom and in the detail of the business.
You'll need:
- Proven senior finance leadership experience within an ASX-listed environment
- Company Secretarial experience — mandatory
- Strong understanding of ASX Listing Rules and Australian corporate governance
- Experience with equity/debt capital markets and capital raising
- Investor relations experience and confidence engaging with investors and strategic partners
- International business experience
- Strong cash-flow and funding management capability
- Experience supporting a business through significant growth or commercialisation
- Strong commercial understanding of licensing, IP, partnerships or similar business models
- CA, CPA, CFA or equivalent senior finance qualification
Most importantly, you'll be a strategic thinker, commercially astute and hands-on, with the ability to identify issues early, challenge constructively and turn financial insight into business decisions.
