Our client is a well-established general insurer with a strong presence in Singapore and ambitious plans for what comes next. They are looking for a CFO who wants to do more than run the numbers: someone who will help decide where the company competes, how capital is deployed, and how the business becomes more resilient and more profitable.
Reporting directly to the CEO, you will have a genuine voice in the decisions that matter most.
What You’ll Do
- Be the CEO’s strategic sounding board. Advise on capital strategy, solvency, reinsurance and dividend capacity, and on allocating capital across lines of business for the best risk-adjusted returns.
- Shape the growth agenda. Partner with Underwriting, Risk and Investments on pricing, portfolio mix and strategic moves, including partnerships, M&A and new initiatives.
- Lead a high-calibre finance team spanning finance and regulatory reporting, finance operations, and FP&A, and make it a true strategic partner to the business.
- Own financial integrity. Ensure strong reporting and controls under IFRS17 and MAS requirements, and act as senior finance contact for regulators and auditors.
- Represent the company externally. Build trusted relationships with the Board, regulators, reinsurers, rating agencies, shareholders and other key stakeholders.
- Modernise finance. Drive automation, better data and sharper insight for faster, better decisions.
What You Bring
- 15+ years in finance, with deep experience in general insurance or a closely related sector, including at least 5 years in senior leadership
- A track record of advising CEOs and Boards on capital, reinsurance and strategy
- Strong knowledge of Singapore’s regulatory environment, including MAS solvency and reporting requirements and IFRS 17
- Experience leading multi-disciplinary finance teams and managing demanding external stakeholders
- A degree in Accountancy, Finance or a related field, plus a professional qualification (CA Singapore, ACCA, CPA, CFA or equivalent)
- Executive presence, sound judgement and the integrity expected of a leader in a regulated industry
Why This Role
- A pivotal executive seat with direct access to the CEO and Board
- The chance to shape strategy, not just report on it
- A competitive package with performance-based incentives
- A collaborative leadership team and a business committed to growth
