Chief Revenue Officer (CRO)
SSCI is a leading SaaS company in industrial jobsite management that is revolutionizing the way businesses digitally manage security, safety and project management. We are growing in the construction industry, but we want to accelerate, and we have many adjacent potential markets. We are seeking a highly motivated and results-oriented Chief Operating Officer (CRO) to lead our revenue generation efforts and drive continued expansion.
About the Role:
The CRO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO and founder here in Portland Oregon. You will be responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive revenue strategy that aligns with the company's overall goals and objectives: Specifically, to increase revenues from $350k/yr to over $1,000k/yr and prepare the company for a strategic transaction.
This is a highly visible role with a significant impact on the company's success and personal compensation, including salary, bonus and equity participation based on performance. All candidates will need to perform well in a 90 day probationary period.
The CRO will oversee inside sales and customer success, plus marketing and our digital strategy, including website, paid search, social media, email and other online channels, and partner relationships with major software platforms such as Procore and Autodesk.
Product Management, Support and Engineering are led by our co-founder who is Head of Product. Finance and other G&A functions will continue to report to the CEO. Working with our Head of Product and the CEO will be key to your success. With proven success against growth metrics, you will be considered for promotion to CEO with an appropriate compensation package.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive revenue strategy: Define and execute go-to-market strategies, sales processes, and revenue models to achieve ambitious growth targets. The company has sold almost exclusively to the construction general contractor industry, but has potential value in many industrial sectors.
- Lead and manage the revenue team: Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team across sales, marketing, and customer success.
- Drive sales performance: Oversee the entire sales cycle, from prospecting, lead generation to closing deals, ensuring efficient processes and optimal conversion rates.
- Optimize marketing and customer success: Align marketing, sales and customer success teams to align strategies, improve customer acquisition and retention, and drive revenue growth.
- Analyze and report on revenue performance: Track key metrics, identify trends, and provide insightful reports to the executive team.
- Identify and pursue new market opportunities: Explore and evaluate new market segments, partnerships, and product offerings to expand the company's reach and revenue streams.
- Foster a data-driven culture: Leverage data and analytics to inform decision-making, optimize revenue operations, and drive continuous improvement.
- Stay abreast of industry trends: Maintain a deep understanding of the SaaS landscape, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies such as AI capabilities.
Qualifications:
- Proven track record: 8+ years of experience in sales leadership roles, unafraid to step into an AE role as required, with a demonstrated history of success in driving revenue growth within a SaaS environment.
- Strategic thinker: Ability to develop and execute a comprehensive revenue strategy that aligns with the company's vision and objectives.
- Strong leadership skills: Experience building, managing, and motivating high-performing teams.
- Data-driven mindset: You should be familiar with today’s SaaS KPIs and metrics, such as CAC, LTV, ARR and associated ratios. Ability to leverage data and analytics to inform decision-making and drive results using our Hubspot CRM.
- Excellent communication skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Passion for SaaS: A deep understanding of the SaaS business model and a passion for driving innovation and growth.
- Ability to Source Investment: Some growth strategies will require bringing in outside investment. You will need to prepare for and participate in fundraising.
