Client work is primarily remote/virtual and includes: Financial Planning, Analysis, and Modeling, Valuations & Capital Raising, Financial, Commercial & Operational Due Diligence, Competitive Strategy, Buy-Side & Sell-Side Advisory, Mergers & Acquisitions, Fractional CFO & Executive (or Interim) Leadership, Operations Performance Improvement, Turnaround & Restructuring, Growth Strategy, Post-Merger Integration.
Role Overview:
- Synergy Management Group (SMG) is seeking a dedicated Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) to manage lead generation, business development, revenue operations, growth strategy, new client acquisition and relations, revenue-related process improvement, and ad hoc strategic initiatives.
- This is a remote contract position, immediate start, 10am-6pm ET availability required, US-based, long-term potential.
- Candidates should be highly experienced in revenue operations, P&L management, business development, new client acquisition, and client relations within the consulting and private equity / venture capital industries.
- Qualified applicants must have 15+ years senior-level experience at top-tier firms within the management consulting, private equity, and/or venture capital industry (e.g., McKinsey, BCG, Bain, KPMG, PwC, Deloitte, Blackstone, KKR, Carlyle, Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, Accel).
Month 1 Evaluation Responsibilities:
- In Month 1, the sole focus will be to close and secure cleared payment for at least one new client engagement with a minimum contract value of $50,000. You will leverage existing resources, tools, and guidance from SMG, as well as strategic support from the CEO, to achieve this revenue goal. Success will be determined based on securing the client contract and receiving cleared funds within the evaluation period.
- Following successful completion of this milestone, we will discuss long-term engagement opportunities.
Ongoing Responsibilities (Month 1 and Onward):
- You will be provided with detailed, step-by-step instructions, templates & relevant tools/accounts/subscriptions to manage the below ongoing Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) responsibilities:
- Drive client relations, business development, and growth strategy; lead revenue operations and strategy; improve sales-related internal processes; manage operational logistics for the CEO, including revenue-related task management, vendor coordination, and meeting scheduling; propose and implement process improvements and strategic initiatives; oversee revenue-related administrative and operational functions across the firm.
Compensation:
- Success-based compensation for the Month 1 Evaluation is capped at 15% of the closed contract value (up to $7,500 on a $50K contract).
- Exceptional performers will have the opportunity for long-term leadership or partnership roles.
Relevant Experience:
- Top-tier or boutique management consulting firms (e.g., McKinsey, Boston Consulting Group, Bain & Company)
- Top-tier or boutique private equity and/or venture capital funds (e.g., Blackstone, KKR, Carlyle, Sequoia, Kleiner Perkins, Accel)
- Decision-maker with strong critical thinking skills and ability to make sound recommendations
- Possesses high EQ
