The Deal Desk team are the strategic partners and advisors to Thomson Reuters' Go-To-Market /teams. We facilitate the deal structures and requests that our clients demand and factor this into Thomson Reuters' wider commercial strategies. We drive scale within the Go-To-Market functions whilst creating efficiencies, profitability, and enables effective governance, allowing our Sales teams to focus primarily on selling.
The Deal Desk Manager will initially lead a team of one Deal Desk Consultant and will key to ensuring the successful adoption of policies, processes, and systems across our European sales teams. You'll partner with verious Business Segments, Product, Finance, Legal, Sales Operations and other operational and functional teams to execute go-to-market strategies. You'll develop processes, systems and commercial policies that support the sales cycle and will have the autonomy and space to identify and new drive initiatives to improve the sales cycle, processes, systems and overall customer experience.
About the Role
As deal Deal Desk Manager at Thomson Reuters, you will:

Manage a small team of Deal Desk associates who focus on enabling deals through our internal processes, with a view to efficiency and compliance.

Oversee the structuring of complex and strategic deals in a way that allows Thomson Reuters to provide the best customer experience and supports the creation of negotiation options and tactics for key customers.

Be the go-to person for the Sales teams when solving complex commercial challenges and enacting deal strategies. You'll work with different teams across the organisation to understand each product's GTM strategy and will ensure operating mechanisms are in place within the deal desk to execute those specific strategies.

Coach Sales teams on changes in processes, policies, and best practices to improve performance. You'll ensure Sales teams are operating within the Rules of Engagement and Commercial Policy, directly partnering with cross-functional teams to driving governance, compliance, and efficiencies through simplification/standardization/systematic and automated solutions.

Provide feedback and insights back to teams that support the commercial activities and contracting. You'll lead change management activities to evolve key stakeholders, functions mindsets that enable sales cycles to be more efficient and effective.

Understand end-to-end processes across OTC and serve as an expert on the roles and responsibilities of cross-functional support teams, resulting in accelerated resolution of issues and drive improvements to the sales cycle.

Set up issue resolution processes across front and back-office teams, drive to root cause resolution for the sales cycle, enable additional knowledge enhancement for gaps and ensure the right expectations are set across key stakeholders and functional groups.

Drive to a culture where decisions are made on data and to deliver the reporting tools that is needed to support that change in mindset.

Engage directly with segment leaders and customers as necessary through both written and verbal communications, to ensure optimized deal flow.
About You
You're a fit for the role of Deal Desk Manager at Thomson Reuters if you have/are:

Demonstrable experience across the sales cycle, customer contracting, leading/managing complex projects. This may have been gained as part of working on a Deals or Contracting desk, or similar operational sales setting.

Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to form partnerships with different functional groups, in different regions with different cultures where face to face opportunities are minimal.

Comfortable with change and uncertainty, with the ability to thrive in a fast-moving environment.

Ability to work in complex matrix environments as a team member or as a single contributor. We're looking for someone that can effectively enhance working practices and deliver key data-backed decisions.that will allow us to execute against agreed OKRs.

Excellent commercial acumen with great time management skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment.

Experience with Salesforce, order capture, SAP and Oracle is a plus.

Ability to establish and manage effectively process/systems that support high volume of transactions with accuracy and integrity.
