At Kahnem, we believe great careers are built through meaningful connections. We are always looking to connect extraordinary people with exciting, rewarding opportunities.
About the opportunity:
Kahnem is partnering with a fast-growing startup based in Washington, DC to hire a Head of Sales. The company is scaling its sales team and we are looking for a mission-driven sales leader to work directly with the cofounders and take the company to the next level.
Our client is a technology company with a mission to help government contractors run healthier businesses so that they can better support the interests of the United States. They are completely reimagining the process of procuring government contracts by transforming federal business development and proposal writing with LLMs. The company was founded in 2022 and has already scaled to 7-figures in ARR.
In this role, you will:
- Become a product expert across our entire platform and understand how the company is differentiated from other companies in the government contracting software space.
- Build and scale the sales team, hiring, training, and developing Account Executives (AEs) to hit aggressive growth targets.
- Own the full sales lifecycle—lead by example, selling to key accounts while training and mentoring AEs to close deals at scale.
- Develop and implement a scalable sales operations framework, including CRM workflows, reporting, and pipeline management - we have these today, but they can be optimized.
- Work directly with high-value prospects to close strategic deals while refining the sales process for efficiency and repeatability.
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and customer success to align sales efforts with product development and customer feedback.
- Utilize data and insights to continually refine sales processes, improve conversion rates, and optimize rep performance.
- Establish and enforce a high-performance culture within the sales team, driving accountability and results.
- Lead the setup of the DC office and build out a strong presence in the area.
Here are the requirements if you want to be considered:
- 3 - 8 years of experience in sales leadership roles, including a large portion of that time in B2B SaaS.
- Strong understanding of sales operations, including CRM, pipeline management, and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience optimizing sales processes and operations, and making their team more efficient and effective.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, high-growth startup or similar environment.
- Experience either building a sales team themselves or having been underneath someone who has built one (and understands that experience).
- Knowledge of how to structure a high-performing SaaS sales team and train AEs.
- You are Pro-USA and aligned with our mission. Ideally, you have an existing network in the government contracting space. You are knowledgeable about the government contracting community, and/or have worked in government sales.
Compensation and Benefits:
This position offers a base salary within the range of $175,000 - $225,000, with an OTE in the range of $330,000 - $425,000. Also, the role offers 0.75% - 1.0% equity in the company (1% equals $600,000 approximately)
Additional details about benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, retirement plans, and other perks, will be shared later in the hiring process. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as qualifications, experience, location, and applicable tax regulations.
At Kahnem, we assist our clients in reviewing market data to ensure competitive and fair compensation packages.
