The Opportunity
We are currently working with a high-growth, PE backed business is looking for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join the executive team and get them to their next phase of growth. The company operates in the SaaS sector and is scaling rapidly in the UK. This is a hands-on strategic leadership role for a commercially minded finance leader who thrives in entrepreneurial environments and enjoys building best-in-class finance capabilities.
While the business currently operates remotely, the intention is to establish a London hub as the team grows. The CFO will play a key role in shaping this next phase of organisational development.
Role Overview
The CFO will be a strategic partner to the CEO and Board, driving financial and operational excellence across the business. The role will lead on strategy, finance, systems, and commercial decision-making, with a focus on scalability, efficiency, and insight. The business is operating at £7m ARR and are looking to grow through organic and inorganic growth.
Key Responsibilities
- Partner with the CEO and Board to define and deliver the long-term growth strategy.
- Support strategic initiatives such as international expansion, M&A, pricing optimisation, supplier negotiations, and new product launches.
- Oversee all financial reporting, management accounts, budgeting, tax, and board reporting.
- Lead on auditor selection and manage relationships with external advisers.
- Build robust systems and processes, including the scoping and implementation of new FP&A and CRM/MAS systems.
- Ensure compliance with financial, legal, and regulatory requirements.
- Commercial Partnering
- Act as a key commercial partner to the CEO and CRO.
- Own sales operations and support the design and implementation of commission and bonus structures.
- Provide financial insight to support pricing, contracting, and business development.
Candidate Profile
- Qualified accountant
- Proven experience as a CFO or Finance Director within a fast-scaling SaaS or technology business.
- Strong understanding of SaaS metrics, subscription revenue models, and PE-backed environments.
- Experience of an exit process or involvement in due diligence (buy-side or sell-side).
- International experience and/or exposure to M&A.
- Delivers accurate, automated, and insightful reporting that drives decision-making.
