Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced finance manager, looking to step into their first ASX listed Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to lead Scalare’s financial strategy and operations, drive business performance and ensure regulatory compliance in a dynamic market environment.
The CFO will be a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for overseeing the company’s financial health, strategic planning and compliance, to support Scalare’s scaling ambitions and ASX listing objectives.
The ideal candidate will have experience in corporate finance, ASX reporting requirements, and a strong understanding of governance in a public company setting.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Strategy & Leadership
- Produce financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting and analysis to support decision-making, drive profitability and operational efficiency.
- Provide strategic financial leadership to the executive team and board, supporting key business decisions.
- Develop and execute Scalare’s financial strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s growth objectives and ASX listing ambitions.
Governance, Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure compliance with ASX regulations, ASIC requirements, and financial reporting standards.
- Establish robust financial controls, policies, and risk management frameworks.
- Oversee financial audits and liaise with external auditors to ensure audited financial statements are completed on time.
- Oversee tax planning and liaise with external tax agent to ensure timely and accurate lodgement of the annual tax returns, including Corporate Income Tax, State-based taxes and Fringe Benefit Tax, for Scalare entities in and outside Australia.
- Review and lodge BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax in-house.
- Oversee insurance strategy and liaise with broker to ensure appropriate insurance policies are placed and renewed when due.
Investor Relations & Stakeholder Engagement
- Support ASX market announcements, investors presentations, and AGM financial reporting.
- Prepare and present financial reports, investment updates, and strategic insights to shareholders and the board.
- Communicate financial performance, risks, and growth opportunities effectively to stakeholders.
Operational & leadership
- Partner with internal teams (sales, marketing, operations) to drive financial efficiencies and optimize business models.
- Implement technology-driven financial solutions to enhance reporting, analytics, and decision-making.
- Oversee financial operations, including accounts, payroll, and internal controls.
- Oversee government grant applications and prepare milestone reports.
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of commercial excellence and continuous improvement.
Skills & Qualifications – Must Have
- CA/CPA qualified, with a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Proven experience as a senior finance leader in a high-growth startup and innovation ecosystems.
- Experience across corporate finance, capital markets, M&A and investment strategies.
- Strong financial modelling, forecasting, and risk management expertise.
- Excellent leadership, strategic thinking, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proactive problem-solver with the ability to execute projects independently.
Skills & Qualifications – Desirable
- Experience with ASX listing processes and regulatory requirements.
- Familiarity with grant funding.
