Title: Operations Associate
Company: Scale AI
About the job:
As Scale AI continues its historic growth trajectory in the Generative AI sector, we are seeking a Growth Marketing Manager to helm initiatives that will significantly drive revenue and expansion within India. This demanding and multi-faceted role requires a unique blend of skills across strategy, operations, and customer engagement, with the aim to catalyze rapid growth in a dynamic and evolving market. A key objective of this role is to build the process to strategically acquire and onboard thousands of highly skilled contributors from India to train and evaluate leading AI models.
About the Role:
As an Operations Associate in the Allocations team, you will act as the critical link between project demand and freelancer availability—similar to how Uber matches drivers to riders. Your main responsibility is ensuring that every available freelancer gets matched with the right project efficiently, maximizing utilization, and minimizing idle time.
Key Responsibilities:
- Real-Time Matching: Assign freelancers to available projects, ensuring optimal skill-to-task alignment.
- Workforce Utilization: Maintain 100% efficiency in work distribution, ensuring no freelancer remains idle.
- Demand Forecasting: Anticipate project needs and adjust allocations accordingly.
- Data-Driven Decision Making: Use dashboards and analytics to track freelancer availability and project capacity.
- Problem-Solving: Quickly resolve allocation challenges like freelancer shortages or project bottlenecks.
- Automation & Optimization: Identify patterns in allocations and suggest process improvements, including automation opportunities.
- Operational Monitoring: Track key allocation metrics (utilization rate, turnaround time, efficiency scores) and propose data-backed solutions.
- Cross-Team Collaboration: Work with data, product, and operations teams to improve the allocation system and ensure a seamless freelancer experience.
- Escalation Handling: Address urgent allocation issues and make real-time adjustments to maintain workflow balance.
What We're Looking For:
- 1-3 years of experience in workforce planning, operations, logistics, or marketplace management.
- Strong analytical mindset with experience using SQL for data analysis and reporting.
- Ability to think in real-time, making quick and effective allocation decisions.
- Proactive problem-solver who thrives in fast-paced environments.
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with workforce management tools, scheduling platforms, or similar operational software is a plus.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, or a related field. Preference for graduates from IITs OR NITs
Location:
Initially, the role will be remote (work from home). However, as the team expands and grows in India, we might move to working from office or a hybrid model. Candidate applying for this role should be based in (or willing to relocate at some point) Mumbai.
