Chief Financial Officer (SaaS)

We are partnering with a private equity–backed SaaS business to appoint a hands-on, operational CFO at a pivotal point in its growth journey. This is a build-and-scale role, working closely with an incoming CEO and an engaged PE sponsor.
This is not a legacy CFO seat. The business requires a leader who has done this before and is comfortable operating in a lean, high-accountability environment.
The Role
- Own the full finance function end-to-end: FP&A, accounting, cash, reporting, controls
- Build and professionalize SaaS metrics (ARR, churn, LTV/CAC, payback, retention)
- Partner closely with the CEO on operating cadence, decision-making, and execution
- Lead board and investor reporting with PE-level rigor
- Be hands-on early: systems, close, forecasting, models — no layers
- Support strategic initiatives including pricing, GTM analytics, and M&A readiness
What We’re Looking For
Must-haves
- Proven experience as a CFO in a modern SaaS business
- Deep understanding of SaaS economics and KPIs (not learning on the job)
- Operational mindset — comfortable building in small teams and owning detail
- Prior exposure to private equity boards and reporting cadence
- Clear availability and commitment (not mid-transaction)
Strong positives
- Background in investment banking
- Experience scaling SaaS businesses from sub-$20m to meaningful scale
- Prior involvement in M&A or integrations
