About the role
To support an evolving organisational structure, eSafety requires a highly experienced and sophisticated senior executive to oversee its Business Operations & Governance Branch. Reporting to the General Manager, this role will be responsible for managing a range of enabling and operational teams to deliver on eSafety’s Mission, Vision, and Strategic Plan.
This position will play a key role in supporting the increasing complexity of eSafety’s internal business operations as it continues to mature as a regulator and grow as an organisation. It will also ensure eSafety’s adherence to and alignment with the ACMA’s corporate policies and Accountable Authority Instructions, with the ACMA Chair being the Accountable Authority for eSafety.
Through the experienced management of risk, alignment of corporate and strategic planning, prudent financial management and optimised service delivery, the Executive Manager, Business Operations and Governance will be a critical contributor to eSafety’s mission and member of the executive team.
As Executive Manager of the Branch, you will:
- Provide leadership and strategic direction to the branch with a strong focus on building a collaborative and supportive workplace culture, communicating objectives and expectations and creating a shared sense of purpose.
- Ensure effective delivery of all branch functions including, where required, building new skills and capabilities and optimising shared services delivery with the ACMA.
- Maintain regular business engagement and foster a deep understanding of eSafety’s overall operations and business functions to support your guidance of organisation wide planning and risk management.
- Lead corporate strategy and planning processes for eSafety, ensuring business, risk, budget and workforce planning are integrated, aligned and effective, and continually evolving to meet business needs.
- Help foster a mature risk culture, proactively managing eSafety risks through appropriate audit, risk and governance mechanisms with fit for purpose approaches in place to support the Commissioner and GM in their risk management duties.
- Work collaboratively with the ACMA to optimise and oversee the effective delivery of shared corporate services arrangements (SLAs/MOU), improving processes, ensuring adequate reporting and transparency is in place to support the Accountable Authority.
- Ensure prudent management and communication of eSafety’s budget position with key stakeholders, ensuring budget allocation is strategically aligned with organisational goals and priorities.
- Ensure organisational compliance with the Commonwealth Financial Management Framework including the PGPA Act and other finance legislation.
- Provide oversight of the Technology Facilitated Abuse national contact centre and other public facing enquiries channels to ensure high quality service and KPIs are met while maintaining staff wellbeing.
- Enable eSafety’s Strategic HR Business Partner to deliver on their work stream, driving organisational wellbeing and culture initiatives and connecting workforce planning to budget and strategic planning initiatives.
- Maximise relationships with key stakeholders to become a trusted partner to both eSafety and ACMA stakeholders in the management of effective governance.
- Represent all branch functions at the SES level within relevant internal and external committees including Senior Leadership Team meetings, Governance Committees and Senate Estimates.
- Leverage existing cross-government networks and relationships to enable the effective delivery of whole-of-government outcomes and maintain awareness of relevant policy and framework changes that may impact eSafety.
- Drive a continuous improvement and innovation culture to look for new and better ways to provide business operations/service delivery.
- Support and grow future business operations and enabling capabilities within the branch in alignment with organisational growth.
Eligibility
To be eligible for employment with eSafety, applicants must be Australian citizens.
