Interim CFO – PE-Backed SaaS Business

We are supporting a private equity-backed B2B SaaS business with the appointment of an experienced CFO on an interim or potentially interim-to-permanent basis.
The business is at an important stage of its development and requires a commercially minded, highly hands-on CFO who can operate effectively in a relatively lean environment while partnering closely with the CEO, management team and private equity investor.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Partnering closely with the CEO, leadership team and PE investor on financial and strategic priorities
- Owning budgeting, forecasting, cash management, reporting and financial controls
- Providing high-quality management information and commercial insight to support decision-making
- Supporting the continued development of SaaS KPIs, reporting and financial planning
- Working closely with the investor on value creation initiatives and board reporting
- Supporting M&A activity where appropriate, including evaluation, execution, integration and post-deal performance
- Improving finance processes, systems and reporting as the business develops
- Ensuring the finance function remains appropriately hands-on and operational while also supporting the company's longer-term strategic objectives
We are looking for an experienced CFO / Finance Director with:
- Strong experience within B2B SaaS / software businesses
- Previous experience operating in a private equity-backed environment
- Demonstrable M&A and, importantly, post-acquisition integration experience
- A genuinely hands-on approach and willingness to operate within a small finance team
- Strong commercial, analytical and operational finance capability
- The credibility to work effectively with a CEO, management team, board and PE investor
- The ability to move comfortably between strategic issues and detailed execution
- Availability to spend approximately three days per week on-site
