Position Overview:
I am currently recruiting on behalf of this client to identify an experienced and highly capable Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join their leadership team. The CFO will play a critical role in managing all aspects of financial operations, corporate strategy, and business growth planning. This is a hands-on, senior leadership position that requires both strategic vision and day-to-day operational oversight of the company’s financial infrastructure.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead full-cycle financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and cash flow management.
- Implement and maintain robust financial controls, policies, and compliance measures.
- Provide strategic financial analysis to support business expansion, profitability, and operational efficiency.
- Develop financial models and scenario planning to evaluate growth opportunities and business risks.
- Manage all financial reporting, including monthly and quarterly statements, tax filings, and year-end audit processes.
- Oversee day-to-day financial operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, invoicing, and collections.
- Serve as the primary liaison with banks, financial institutions, auditors, insurance providers, and regulatory agencies.
- Evaluate and optimize cost structures, pricing models, vendor agreements, and operational processes.
- Partner closely with ownership on corporate strategy, investments, and business planning initiatives.
- Lead and mentor internal finance and administration staff.
Key Qualifications:
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive experience in finance, accounting, and senior financial leadership roles (Canadian market experience strongly preferred).
- CPA designation is strongly preferred.
- Extensive knowledge of GAAP, taxation, financial reporting, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience in small-to-mid-sized private companies, preferably within consulting, professional services, project-based industries, or technical sectors.
- Proven ability to implement and optimize financial processes, systems, and reporting frameworks.
- Bilingual in French and English is required.
- Strong leadership, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a hands-on, roll-up-the-sleeves approach.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to partner across departments and levels.
Work Model:
This position is based out of the organization’s head office in Montréal, QC, with in-office presence expected.
