HYBRID position available! A regional non-profit client based in Morris County, NJ is currently seeking a CFO to join their organization on a direct-hire basis. The CFO will report to the CEO, and serve as their primary strategic partner overseeing all financial operations, strategic planning, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, and long-range financial planning
- Negotiate state contracts (including Medicaid), vendor, and insurance agreements
- Manage day-to-day accounting, financial operations, payroll, and benefits
- Oversee annual audits and ensure regulatory compliance
- Prepare timely and accurate financial reporting for the executive team and board
- Manage risk (insurance, procurement, ERISA compliance for 401(k))
- Serve as fiduciary for retirement plans
- Attend board and finance committee meetings and present financial updates
- Process general ledger entries, reconciliations, and month-end closings
- Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable activities
- Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and professional development
Requirements
- Bachelors Degree in Accounting or Finance
- Minimum 3 years' experience in a supervisory accounting or finance role
- Experience with negotiating contracts
- Recent experience managing accounting/finance operations for a non-profit organization
- Strong communication and presentation capabilities
