Why This Role Matters
As a Merchant Onboarding Executive, you will manage the end-to-end onboarding journey for merchants using our payment gateway. This is a high-touch role that directly impacts merchant activation timelines and overall experience.
You will guide merchants through KYC documentation, resolve onboarding challenges, and coordinate with internal teams to ensure smooth and timely activation.
What You’ll Own
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to drive seamless merchant onboarding
- Contact merchants via phone and guide them through the complete onboarding process
- Explain KYC requirements and assist merchants in completing necessary documentation
- Follow up proactively to resolve onboarding issues and ensure timely activation
- Escalate technical or operational roadblocks to relevant internal teams
- Maintain accurate records of merchant interactions and onboarding status in CRM systems
- Deliver exceptional merchant support and manage ad-hoc onboarding tasks as required
Who You Are
- 1–2 years of experience in merchant onboarding, customer support, telecalling, or a similar role within fintech or payment gateway environments
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Basic understanding of payment gateways, KYC processes, and banking regulations
- Strong problem-solving ability with clarity on when to escalate issues
- Customer-centric approach with strong rapport-building skills
- Comfortable managing follow-ups and working with structured processes
