The Opportunity
A private equity-backed manufacturing organisation is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to partner with investors and the executive team to accelerate value creation, refine financial infrastructure, and ensure rigorous execution across growth initiatives.
The Role
- Develop and implement a comprehensive financial strategy in alignment with the company's objectives and PE-backed growth plans.
- Oversee improvements in budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning processes to ensure long-term financial sustainability.
- Provide financial insights and recommendations to the CEO and Board of Directors.
- Monitor and analyse financial KPIs and metrics to identify areas for improvement and optimisation across the group.
- Manage cash flow and working capital more effectively and optimise working capital to support ongoing operations and growth initiatives.
- Assess and execute financing options, including debt and equity, to maximise capital structure efficiency.
- Develop and implement strategies to mitigate financial risks, including currency exchange, interest rates, and market fluctuations.
- Lead financial due diligence, analysis, and integration of potential M&A opportunities.
- Mentor and lead a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Key Requirements
- Proven track record as a PE CFO in high growth manufacturing firms. Ideally, food, pharma or other make-to-order industrial sectors.
- Experience in private equity-backed environments, with international scaling exposure, buy & build and PMI.
- Experience as CFO in shaping financial strategy in high-value enterprises (£500m+), with the operational maturity that comes with large organisational scale.
- Previous career experience of working for large corporates +1bn.
- Strong experience in financial management, strategic planning, and M&A activities.
- Strong understanding of B2B manufacturing and multi-country regulatory frameworks.
- Excellent leadership and team management skills.
- Effective communication and presentation abilities, including the capacity to convey complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA/international equivalent).
- Commercial leadership across Europe, North America, and Asia.
- Fluent in English; additional languages are also advantageous.
- Strategic thinker with hands-on leadership style and operational execution capability.
