We are partnering with a high-growth communications agency backed by a leading Private Equity firm. The business generates c.£5m EBITDA with a clear plan to scale to £15m+ through a well-capitalised buy-and-build strategy. With c.250 FTEs across London and regional offices, the organisation benefits from high-margin services, deep sector expertise, and long-standing client relationships.
As CFO, you will be the key strategic partner to the CEO and Board, shaping and delivering the next phase of growth. This is a hands-on, commercially focused leadership role overseeing all financial, commercial, and operational aspects of the business. You will ensure the organisation is equipped with robust reporting, governance, systems, and controls to support scaling, M&A, and a future exit. This is a rare opportunity to play a pivotal role in a multi-year value-creation journey.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead financial strategy, planning and long-term value creation
- Drive commercial insights across client profitability, service line performance, pricing and working capital
- Deliver high-quality financial reporting and evolve KPIs, forecasting and exit-ready reporting
- Maintain strong financial controls, governance and risk management
- Manage liquidity, cashflow, covenant compliance and the broader capital structure
- Build and develop a high-performing finance team and scalable systems
- Act as the lead financial interface with the PE sponsor, banks and auditors
- Lead all aspects of M&A including diligence, valuation, structuring and integration
Candidate Profile: You will be an ACA-qualified finance leader with experience as CFO or divisional CFO in a services-based, people-led organisation. You bring a track record of scaling businesses over a 3–5 year horizon and delivering operational and commercial improvements. Private Equity experience is essential, including Board reporting, investor engagement, value creation planning and exit readiness. Strong corporate finance and M&A capability, alongside experience managing a leveraged balance sheet, is required.
