Job Summary:
We are seeking an accomplished and dynamic individual for the full-time position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to join our executive leadership team and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial strategy, growth and long-term success of our growing marketing services and manufacturing organization. The successful candidate will be a seasoned financial leader with deep expertise across both Canadian and U.S. markets, have a strong command of modern financial systems and a proven track record of driving business performance through strategic insight, innovation and technology with a solid understanding of manufacturing operations, production efficiency and optimally commercial printing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all aspects of financial management including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, tax planning and treasury.
- Lead the finance department to ensure effective financial planning and operational excellence. Drive corporate performance improvement initiatives, partnering with business units to streamline operations, reduce costs and enhance profitability through process optimization and data-driven insights.
- Drive corporate strategic planning, providing financial insight to shape both short and long-term goals, capital allocation and resource prioritization. Lead financial forecasting and strategic analysis to ensure informed decision-making across all business units. Collaborate closely with the executive team to translate corporate vision and goals into actionable financial objectives.
- Lead scenario and contingency planning, preparing the organization for economic, market and operational uncertainties. Provide proactive recommendations to navigate risks and capitalize on emerging opportunities.
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) across the organization to measure financial health, operational efficiency and strategic progress.
- Implement dashboards and reporting tools with IT leadership to provide real-time visibility of business performance and track progress toward strategic objectives. Partner with business units to identify and act on improvement opportunities.
- Collaborate with executive leadership team to evaluate key investment opportunities (e.g. technology, market expansion, geographic expansion and M&A). Oversee mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including due diligence, valuation, integration planning and post-transaction performance monitoring. Lead cross-functional deal teams, assess financial and operational risks, and ensure synergy realization and value creation from transactions. Advise the board on strategic acquisition targets and divestiture opportunities.
- Oversee treasury and capital structure strategies, including debt management, financing strategies and banking relationships. Optimize liquidity, capital efficiency, and funding strategies to support strategic initiatives. Evaluate financing options, manage covenants and maintain strong relationships with lenders and financial institutions.
- Support digital transformation initiatives, leveraging advanced analytics, AI-driven insights and automation to improve financial reporting, forecasting and decision-making capabilities.
- Oversee cash flow management, investment strategies and risk assessment to ensure organizational financial stability.
- Lead the modernization of financial systems in close partnership with IT leadership, ensuring scalability, integration, data integrity and cybersecurity. Lead the use of automation and advanced software solutions (e.g. Sage Intacct) to enhance accuracy, visibility and operational efficiency.
- Deliver insightful financial modeling, data analytics and reports to support informed decision-making at all organizational levels.
- Collaborate with senior team members in developing, analyzing, and implementing pricing strategies to maximize profitability and competitiveness. Help build pricing models, conducting market research, analyzing sales and cost data, and collaborating with manufacturing, sales, marketing and finance teams to align pricing with business goals.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with vendors, partners and other stakeholders to optimize financial performance.
- Ensure compliance with all financial, legal and regulatory standards, maintaining robust internal controls.
- Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration and continuous improvement within the finance team and the larger organization
Qualifications:
- CPA designation with 15+ years of progressive financial management experience.
- Minimum 5 years in a manufacturing environment and the ideal candidate would have commercial printing experience. An understanding of the production lifecycle, supply chain dynamics and the economic drivers unique to a make-to-order business model are highly valued.
- Proven experience operating in both Canadian and U.S. business environments.
- Strong technology proficiency, with a track record of implementing ERP or financial software solutions and leading digital transformation and automation initiatives.
- Sage Intacct (preferred) or similar financial management software experience is mandatory and ERP software experience is strongly preferred to help streamline operations.
- Advanced skills in financial modeling, data analytics and risk management.
- Strong analytical, strategic planning and problem-solving abilities.
- Certifications and/or proven knowledge of process improvement methodologies like Lean Six Sigma to apply financial insights directly to the optimization of non-financial processes are valued.

Remuneration: depending on candidate’s experience plus an up to $25,000 discretionary bonus.
