Chief Financial Officer
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will lead all finance functions across Catholic Charities. As a senior financial officer and a member of the executive management team, CFO will partner as a trusted confident and business strategist with the President/COO and senior operating team.
Job Responsibilities
- Oversee the organization's financial operations and infrastructure by directing budgeting, forecasting, accounting, payroll, cash management, and financial reporting functions. Ensure accuracy, internal controls, and compliance with nonprofit, government, and funder requirements. Provide reliable financial information that enables informed decision-making.
- Drive the organization's financial strategy and long-term sustainability by translating mission priorities into multi-year financial plans. Lead scenario modeling, performance analysis, and risk assessment; identifying opportunities to strengthen financial resilience and operational efficiency. Partner with executive leadership to support growth, innovation, and responsible expansion of services.
- Serve as a trusted financial representative of CCAC by leading transparent, credible communication with the Board of Directors, external auditors, funders, regulator, banks, and community partners. Clearly articulate the organization's financial position, risks, and opportunities; and strengthen confidence in the stewardship, sustainability, and mission-driven use of resources.
- Partner closely with executive leadership and cross functional teams to integrate financial strategy into organizational planning and operations. Collaborate with internal teams to align budgets, funding models, and performance metrics. Ensure financial insights support coordinated decision-making, operational effectiveness, and mission impact across the organization.
- Lead and develop the Finance team by setting clear goals and expectations, monitoring performance, and providing regular feedback and guidance. Inspire team excellence by modeling accountability, collaboration, and solution-oriented thinking, and ensure team members are supported, empowered, and high-performing while fostering a positive, purpose-driven culture.
- Invest in leadership growth and professional development across the team through coaching, mentorship, and succession planning. Promote a culture of learning and accountability where leaders are empowered to grow their teams, strengthen engagement, and deliver high-quality, impactful services.

Education and Experience Requirements:
Minimum
- Bachelor's Degree in Arts/Sciences (BA/BS)
- 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in financial management and administrative operations.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing cross-functional areas such as IT, data/analytics, facilities, and strategic planning.
- Proven track record as a CFO or equivalent senior financial executive.
- Strong understanding of financial systems, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and data analytics platforms.
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance, audit standards, and risk management frameworks.
Preferred
- Master's degree
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Experience in government-funded/grant-funded organizations.
- Experience leading enterprise-wide strategic initiatives and aligning financial and operational functions to long-term goals.
- Board-level engagement and governance experience.
- Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels, including the Board.
