Bain & Company Canada, Inc. is recruiting for the currently available maternity leave contract role of Specialist, Events and Business Operations at our Toronto office, with an estimated start date of April 13, 2026 throughout September 30, 2027.

Position Summary
This critical role is responsible for ensuring Toronto office events (whether for current employees, alumni, and/or clients) deliver a best-in-class experience and are run efficiently and effectively. Events can range from small team and client gatherings to large-scale events, where you will be responsible for event calendar management, end-to-end event planning, and securing necessary resources (venues, technical support, food & beverage, etc.). This role will provide general support to the Leadership Team and office Talent & Business Operations teams. This role will require frequent teaming with many Toronto office departments and groups as well as regional / global functions.
What You’ll Do
Own & drive major office-wide events
- Example office-wide events include but are not necessarily limited to: Summer Offsite, Winter Offsite / Holiday Party, LT Offsite, Alumni Event
- Own, drive, and manage events from “end-to-end”
- Team with Snr. Director, Consulting Programs, VP Talent & Ops, Office Head, and other relevant stakeholders to create vision, objectives, and agenda for major office-wide events
- Own budget development and management for individual events, as well as for the overall function
- Lead corresponding site selection and contract negotiation processes
- Work closely with Bain Legal department on contract negotiations, as required
- Manage all corresponding communications, including but not limited to promoting events, calendar invites and attendance, logistic emails, and feedback surveys
- Develop, plan and manage execution for catering, technical / audio- visual support, social elements, and other event requirements
- Help develop and/or coordinate any required creative, content, swag, etc.
- Attend the events organized, in order to support “last mile” execution and be available to ensure a best-in-class customer experience for all those involved
Support office programs / extra 10s with program-specific events
- Example program-specific events include but are not limited to: Monthly to quarterly ESPRIT events, Women At Bain (WAB) events, connectivity events
- Support organization of in-office training sessions & programs, including but not limited to: scheduling sessions, allocating trainers, organizing catering and social events
Provide additional support to broader Talent & Business Operations / Office Services teams
- Own and manage an annual calendar of events, as well as corresponding workplans for each of the office-wide and program-specific events
- Similarly, own and manage the “Toronto office calendar”, as a tool to organize and communicate these events to the broader office
- Team with the Senior Director, Consulting Programs, in order to plan and track budgets for the function overall, as well as for each of the events mentioned above
Provide Additional In-office Support If/when Required
- Help support monthly Leadership Team Meetings (e.g. catering, tech, room setup)
- Assist with miscellaneous in-office support for Leadership Team members and their case teams (e.g. assist with a lunch run if/when a Partner is back to back all day)
- Act as occasional back-up coverage for the reception desk, as required
- Perform special projects and other related duties as assigned or as required
About You
- A minimum of three years of administrative support or event planning experience
- Ability to be present in the office for 4+ days/week and at relevant events, in particular
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and confidentiality required
- Ability to work independently and as an integral member of cross-functional teams
- Professional written and verbal communication skills
- Comfortable proactively connecting with many different groups / stakeholders
- Strong customer service focus
- Flexibility with hours; ability to work overtime and evenings as needed
- Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, juggle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Windows, Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint
- Ability to move large objects (i.e., conference room tables) and assist in room set-up
- Ability to drive, as necessary, to potential event venues (rental car can be provided)

Compensation
The estimated annualized compensation for this role is as follows:
- Base salary in the hourly range of CAD $30.8894 to CAD $40.8654 (annual equivalent from CAD $64,250 to CAD $85,000). Placement within this range will vary based on several factors including, but not limited to, experience, education, licensure/certifications, training and skill level.
- Annual discretionary performance bonus
- Annual employer retirement program contribution in the amount of 10% of eligible compensation (base salary and performance bonus paid in the prior year) up to the annual allowable government limit. It begins accruing on the day one starts at Bain & Company Canada and is provided to active employees at the end of February each year.
