We’re Hiring: Chief Financial Officer (CFO) – NDIS Sector - REMOTE
Go Care Support Services is seeking an experienced Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to play a critical leadership role in the financial sustainability and growth of our organisation.
This is a hands-on, strategic CFO role within a complex NDIS environment. You’ll oversee end-to-end finance operations while acting as a trusted advisor to the CEO — ensuring strong compliance, clear financial insights, and proactive decision-making.
You’ll bring deep experience in:
- NDIS funding, pricing and compliance
- SCHADS Award payroll and workforce compliance
- Budgeting, forecasting, cashflow and financial modelling
- Property and accommodation financial management (SIL/SDA desirable)

Scope of the position The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) at Go Care Support Services is a senior leadership role responsible for the financial sustainability, compliance, and strategic growth of the organisation. Operating within a complex NDIS-funded environment, the CFO will combine hands-on financial management with high level strategic advisory capability. This role ensures Go Care is financially strong, fully compliant with NDIS, ATO, SCHADS Award and corporate obligations, while proactively identifying opportunities to improve profitability, reduce risk, and support growth across service delivery and property assets.

Skills, Experience and Qualification required
- CPA- CPA or CA qualification.
- NDIS Funding- Strong understanding of NDIS funding structures, pricing, and compliance requirements.
- Payroll -Proven experience managing payroll under the SCHADS Award.
- Strong leadership with the ability to be both hands-on and strategic.
- Financial Modelling -Advanced financial modelling, budgeting, and forecasting skills.
- Interpersonal skills - The applicant should have excellent interpersonal skills and be able to liaise with a range of possible stakeholders
- NDIS - NDIS Worker Screening Clearance (this will need to be done before start of employment)
- Finance Experience - Significant senior finance experience, ideally within NDIS, disability, community services, or health sector
- Administrative and Task Management -Proficiency in the use of MS Word, MS Excel, One drive, google, Task Management tools,
- Small / Medium Size Organisations - Experience in small to medium-sized organisations with complex compliance requirements
- SIL/SDA Housing Models - Experience working with property portfolios or SIL/SDA housing models.
- Finance Systems- Experience implementing or optimising finance systems (e.g. Quickbooks, payroll, Shifcare, Employment Hero integrations).

Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Financial Leadership
- Develop and maintain a clear financial strategy and roadmap aligned with Go Care’s growth objectives.
- Provide financial modelling, scenario analysis, and feasibility assessments for new programs, services, or property initiatives.
- Act as a trusted strategic advisor to the CEO and Silent Director for anticipating issues and proactively presenting solutions.
- Prepare and present clear financial insights, dashboards, and recommendations to support executive decision-making. Budgeting, Forecasting & Performance Management
- Lead the annual budgeting process across all business units.
- Monitor actual performance against budget and provide detailed variance analysis monthly.
- Conduct quarterly gross profit (GP%) analysis by service line, property, and funding stream.
- Analyse sales categories and revenue streams monthly to identify trends and risks. Operational Accounting & Financial Control
- Oversee all accounting functions including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, general ledger, and reconciliations.
- Ensure accurate, timely monthly and year-end close processes.
- Provide monthly Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet reports on an accrual basis to the CEO and Silent Director.
- Ensure all payments are made within agreed terms (target average 21 days, no more than 60 days).
- Ensure all accounts-related emails and queries are actioned within 24 hours.
- Contribute to monthly leadership report • Ensure adherence to Delegated Authority
- Conduct quarterly mini audits NDIS Financial Management & Compliance
- Ensure 100% compliance with NDIS Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits.
- Oversee accurate allocation and tracking of NDIS funding across participant plans.
- Ensure NDIS funds are appropriately assigned to supports, SIL, SDA, and other service categories, preventing overspend or funding shortfalls.
- Manage NDIS claiming, reconciliations, and reporting requirements to minimise audit risk and penalties.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of NDIS funding changes and translate impacts for the leadership team Property & Asset Financial Management
- Manage financial performance of the O’Brien Group of properties and other Go Care property assets.
- Determine appropriate rental pricing, participant contributions, and additional fees to ensure properties operate profitably.
- Monitor property-related costs including maintenance, utilities, and financing.
- Provide recommendations to improve property profitability and cost efficiency. Cashflow & Working Capital Management
- Prepare fortnightly cashflow reports including accounts receivable and accounts payable positions.
- Lead fortnightly cashflow meetings with the CEO and Silent Director
- Ensure adequate provisioning for tax, superannuation, and statutory obligations.
- Monitor and manage client agreements, payments, commencements, and exits. Risk Management, Compliance & Governance
- Ensure 100% compliance with ATO, superannuation, tax, and corporate regulatory requirements.
- Maintain strong internal controls and financial governance frameworks.
- Identify financial and operational risks and implement mitigation strategies. Liaise with external accountants, auditors, banks, and relevant government bodies (including NDIA). Systems & Technology
- Select, implement, and optimise accounting and finance systems (e.g. Quickbooks, payroll, CRM integration).
- Drive automation and process improvements to improve efficiency and accuracy.
- Ensure accurate data integrity across finance, payroll, and CRM systems. Continuous Improvement & Cost Optimisation
- Identify and recommend cost-saving initiatives with a target of reducing total expenses by up to 3% annually.
- Support department heads with financial analysis to improve service efficiency and margins.
- Deliver at least one documented “under promise, over deliver” initiative per month for the business owner.
