We’re seeking a dynamic, mission-driven CFO to lead the financial vision of a 501(c)(4) organization, ensuring strong stewardship, smart growth, and rock-solid compliance. As the organization’s senior financial officer, the CFO oversees all treasury, accounting, budgeting, reporting, and compliance functions—guiding long-range financial strategy, safeguarding assets, and partnering with executive leadership and the Board to ensure sustainable success.
Job duties include, but not limited to:
- Provide strategic leadership and oversight of treasury, accounting, budgeting, tax, audit, and financial reporting functions.
- Direct financial planning, forecasting, cash flow management, and long-range financial strategy.
- Ensure compliance with all regulatory and legal requirements, including taxation, IRGC filings, and annual reporting.
- Oversee all accounting operations and internal controls to safeguard organizational assets.
- Manage banking relationships, borrowing facilities, and loan agreements; ensure adequate liquidity and credit resources.
- Administer custody and disbursement of funds; oversee prudent investment of organizational assets.
- Review and recommend appropriate insurance coverage to mitigate organizational risk.
- Develop and present the consolidated annual budget and capital expenditure plans to the President and Board of Directors.
- Monitor financial performance against operating plans and report results to executive leadership and the Board.
- Support the development of overall corporate objectives and organizational profitability.
- Serve as primary staff liaison to the Finance, Audit, and Investment (Retirement Plans) Committees.
Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business administration. CPA certification required. Advanced degree preferred or 10 to 15 years equivalent experience in an organization with a budget of at least $10 million. Experience in a large, complex organization is preferred. At least 5 years’ experience in a high-level financial management position. Solid business background and the ability to lead, communicate, and motivate in all levels. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with persons of diverse backgrounds. Advanced knowledge of budgeting principles and practices, accounting principles, investment, and financial reporting methodologies. Demonstrated leadership ability, team management, and interpersonal skills. Demonstrates administrative and supervisory skills to work in a senior management position. Excellent analytical and abstract reasoning skills, plus excellent organization skills. Possesses a high degree of flexibility in order to achieve objectives and meet demands. Exhibits excellent written, verbal and public speaking skills. Exhibits excellent strategic planning and organizational skills. Has proficiency with information technology, including knowledge of database and accounting computer applications to supply the most accurate information. Has the ability to maintain confidential information. Primarily indoor environment. Must be able to lift up to 30 lbs. Light physical demands.
