Our client is a Singapore Exchange (SGX) listed engineering and industrial services organisation with an established presence supporting the Energy, Marine and Oil & Gas industries across the region. The company is seeking to appoint an experienced Finance Director / Chief Financial Officer to lead the finance function and partner closely with senior management and the Board in strengthening financial governance, operational performance and long-term business sustainability.
Some of the key responsibilities will include:
- Financial Leadership & Strategy - Provide strategic financial leadership to the organisation, partnering closely with the CEO and senior leadership team to support business planning, financial performance and long-term growth objectives.
- Financial Reporting & SGX Compliance - Oversee all statutory financial reporting, SGX announcements and regulatory requirements, ensuring timely and accurate disclosures in compliance with Singapore Financial Reporting Standards (SFRS) and SGX listing rules.
- Financial Operations & Controls - Lead the overall financial management of the organisation including budgeting, forecasting, treasury, cash flow management and the strengthening of financial processes and internal controls.
- Project Accounting & Revenue Recognition - Provide oversight on financial management of project-based operations, including contract accounting, work-in-progress (WIP) costing and revenue recognition, ensuring alignment with accounting standards and commercial objectives.
- Finance Team Leadership - Lead and develop the finance function across the organisation, providing direction and mentorship to the finance team while fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment that supports business operations across regional activities.
- Strategic Business Partnering - Act as a trusted financial advisor to senior management, working closely with operational leaders to improve financial visibility, support decision-making and enhance project profitability.
- Corporate Governance & Risk Management - Strengthen corporate governance, risk management frameworks and internal controls in line with the expectations of a publicly listed organisation.
- Stakeholder Management - Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders including the Board of Directors, auditors, legal advisors, bankers and regulatory bodies.
- Sustainability & ESG Reporting - Support the organization’s sustainability initiatives by overseeing ESG and sustainability reporting in line with evolving regulatory and stakeholder expectations.
- Audit & Regulatory Liaison - Lead engagement with external auditors and advisors to ensure smooth completion of statutory audits, tax compliance and regulatory submissions.
To be eligible for this role you will require:
- Degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline with professional qualification such as CPA, CA or ACCA preferred.
- Minimum 15–20 years of progressive finance and accounting experience, including senior finance leadership roles.
- Prior experience within an SGX-listed company environment, with strong understanding of SGX reporting and regulatory requirements.
- Industry exposure to engineering, industrial services, marine, oil & gas, or project-based environments will be highly advantageous.
- Strong familiarity with project accounting and WIP costing within operational businesses.
- Proven leadership experience managing finance teams and partnering with senior stakeholders including executive management and Board members.
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
