Chief Financial Officer (CFO) on behalf of a high-growth, profitable $30M SaaS organization operating at the intersection of AI and marketing technology. This is a rare opportunity to join a category-defining company that has achieved significant scale without external funding and is poised for its next phase of growth. This is a full-time, hybrid leadership role based in San Francisco, CA, reporting directly to the CEO.
THE ROLE: Our client is a profitable, fast-scaling SaaS organization that has achieved over $30M in annual recurring revenue through disciplined, capital-efficient growth. With strong fundamentals and increasing market traction, the company is entering a pivotal stage—requiring a forward-thinking financial leader to build infrastructure, enhance visibility, and guide long-term strategic decisions.
The Chief Financial Officer will serve as the financial architect of the organization, owning the full financial function while transforming data into actionable insights for executive leadership. This is a highly hands-on, build-and-operate role requiring both operational rigor and strategic foresight.
The CFO will play a critical role in modernizing financial systems, implementing scalable reporting infrastructure, and leveraging AI-driven tools to accelerate decision-making. Over time, this leader will act as a key strategic advisor on capital deployment, growth strategy, and potential liquidity events including M&A, fundraising, or IPO readiness.
Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Strategy
- Own and oversee the full financial function, including P&L reporting across multiple entities
- Translate financial data into actionable insights to support executive decision-making
- Partner with leadership to advise on cost optimization, revenue strategy, and financial performance
- Identify and implement key financial metrics and KPIs to monitor business health
Financial Operations & Infrastructure
- Lead month-end close processes and ensure accuracy across all financial reporting
- Audit and improve accounting processes, including classification logic and reconciliation practices
- Oversee vendor payments, contractor payments, and financial operations workflows
- Build scalable financial infrastructure to support continued growth
Data, Analytics & AI Integration
- Independently extract, analyze, and model financial data without reliance on a data team
- Utilize AI-driven tools to automate reporting, generate insights, and improve forecasting accuracy
- Develop advanced financial models to support planning, forecasting, and strategic initiatives
Cross-Functional Partnership
- Collaborate with department leaders to contextualize financial performance and inform decision-making
- Provide clear, digestible financial narratives for non-finance stakeholders
- Support finance operations and ensure alignment across teams
Strategic Growth & Capital Planning
- Advise on mergers, acquisitions, and expansion opportunities
- Lead preparation for potential fundraising, acquisition, or public offering
- Support long-term financial planning as the organization scales toward $100M+ ARR
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive finance experience, including 3+ years in a CFO or VP Finance role
- Proven experience owning financial operations and P&L across multiple entities
- Experience supporting or leading fundraising, IPO preparation, or M&A initiatives
- Strong financial modeling and data analysis capabilities
- Deep expertise in accounting systems (e.g., QuickBooks) and financial best practices
- Experience working within SaaS environments, including familiarity with ARR, churn, and NRR metrics
- Demonstrated ability to operate independently and thrive in a lean, fast-paced environment
- Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex financial data into clear insights
Preferred
- Experience in bootstrapped or capital-efficient growth environments
- Familiarity with AI-driven tools for financial analysis and automation
- Background in multi-entity accounting structures
- Experience supporting global teams or distributed workforces
Compensation And Benefits

- Base Salary: $250,000 – $350,000 (DOE)
