Role Overview
We are seeking a commercially driven and strategically minded Group CFO with deep experience in the telecommunications sector, a proven track record in IPO execution, and fluency in Tamil and English.
The successful candidate will lead the Group’s financial strategy, capital markets activities, and operational finance functions, playing a critical role in scaling the business and delivering shareholder value.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Leadership
- Partner with the CEO and Board to define and execute the Group’s long-term financial strategy
- Provide strategic insight on growth initiatives, market expansion, and M&A opportunities
- Act as a key advisor on capital structure, funding strategy, and investor positioning
IPO & Capital Markets
- Lead end-to-end IPO readiness and execution (governance, reporting, advisors, roadshow, listing)
- Manage relationships with investment banks, legal advisors, auditors, and regulators
- Oversee post-listing compliance, investor relations, and market communications
Financial Management
- Full ownership of Group financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting
- Ensure robust financial controls, risk management, and governance frameworks
- Drive performance management across all business units and geographies
Telecom Sector Expertise
- Provide financial oversight of telecom operations including CAPEX-intensive infrastructure, spectrum investments, and network rollout
- Monitor key telecom KPIs (ARPU, churn, EBITDA margins, subscriber growth, etc.)
- Support commercial teams with pricing, bundling, and market competitiveness analysis
Operational Excellence
- Optimize cost structures and improve profitability across the Group
- Lead digital transformation within finance (systems, automation, analytics)
- Build and develop a high-performing, internationally diverse finance team
Stakeholder Management
- Present financial performance and strategy to Board, investors, and external stakeholders
- Act as a key interface with regulators across relevant jurisdictions
- Support corporate governance and ESG initiatives
Key Requirements
Experience & Qualifications
- Proven experience as a CFO or senior finance leader in a telecommunications or related infrastructure business
- Demonstrated success in leading or playing a key role in an IPO (essential)
- Strong understanding of global capital markets, debt/equity financing, and investor relations
- Experience managing multi-entity, multi-country financial operations
Technical Expertise
- Deep knowledge of IFRS / international accounting standards
- Strong financial modelling, valuation, and capital allocation skills
- Experience with large-scale CAPEX planning and ROI analysis
Language Skills
- Fluency in Tamil and English (spoken and written) — essential
