Our client, a leading consumer durables / diversified manufacturing brand with a strong legacy and multi-business presence, is looking for a Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to be based in Gurgaon.
This organization is a well-established, professionally managed, listed company with a wide portfolio spanning multiple product categories and a strong footprint across domestic and international markets. It is known for its governance standards, brand equity, and continuous focus on innovation and growth.
This leadership role will be responsible for driving the organization’s finance & accounts strategy, strengthening operational excellence, and supporting the company’s next phase of growth and transformation.
Role Purpose
The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) will be responsible for strengthening and leading the Finance & Accounts function to achieve the organization’s financial objectives as defined by the Chairman and Board of Directors.
This role provides strategic leadership across financial planning, business decision-making, and fiscal management, while partnering closely with senior leadership to enhance shareholder value and support both organic and inorganic growth initiatives, including mergers, acquisitions, and strategic alliances.
Key Responsibilities
1. Finance Business Partnering
- Act as a key driver of change, aligning financial practices with evolving business needs
- Partner with senior leadership, including Board and shareholders, to support strategic decisions
- Drive productivity and ROI on marketing and business investments through financial integration and planning
2. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Review
- Lead annual budgeting processes and secure Board approvals
- Own financial planning, feasibility studies, and investment evaluations
- Review organizational performance against budgets and long-term strategy
- Monitor financial productivity, margins, and cost structures
- Provide strategic and tactical recommendations to leadership
- Contribute to corporate policy development as part of the senior management team
3. Funding & Cash Flow Management
- Ensure effective cash flow planning and funding availability
- Oversee financial forecasts including P&L and cash flow
- Approve payables and manage liquidity
- Develop predictive financial models and analyses
- Manage foreign exchange risks and hedging strategies
4. Accounting, Taxation, Audit & Compliance
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with applicable laws and standards
- Oversee monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
- Lead internal and external audits and act as key liaison for auditors
- Ensure compliance with direct and indirect tax regulations
- Maintain robust financial controls and reporting systems
- Ensure timely tax filings, audits, and regulatory compliance
5. Process Improvement & Internal Controls
- Establish continuous financial control systems across the organization
- Strengthen accounting systems, processes, and data governance
- Implement checks and balances for financial accuracy and integrity
6. Asset Management & Insurance
- Oversee asset verification, valuation, and risk assessment
- Ensure adequate insurance coverage
- Manage real estate portfolio including leases and renewals in coordination with Legal
7. Enterprise Risk Management
- Lead risk identification, assessment, and mitigation strategies
- Proactively inform leadership of financial risks and compliance gaps
- Develop and monitor risk response frameworks
8. Investor Relations
- Develop and manage investor relations programs
- Engage with analysts, investors, and stakeholders
- Ensure transparent and accurate communication of company information
9. Team Leadership
- Build and develop a high-performing finance team
- Identify capability gaps and drive hiring and training initiatives
- Lead performance management and mentoring programs
10. Vendor & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain strong relationships with banks, financial institutions, and capital markets
- Engage with auditors, consultants, and statutory bodies

Qualifications
- Chartered Accountant (mandatory)
- 18–20 years of post-qualification experience
- Additional qualifications (MBA / Law / CS / ICWAI) preferred
Experience
- 20–25 years of overall industry experience
- Minimum 10 years in a large, multi-business listed organization
- Proven experience interacting with Board-level stakeholders
- Strong expertise across Finance, Taxation, Treasury, and Risk Management
