Business Unit: EPS Automotive Electronics
Role: Business Operation Leader
The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing new business opportunities with automotive OEMs and Tier 2 partners. This role focuses on expanding customer relationships, supporting new product introductions (NPIs), and driving revenue growth through strategic partnerships, pricing strategies, and market intelligence. The BDM acts as the key liaison between internal engineering, program management, and the customer to align commercial and technical objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Relationship Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with key OEMs, Tier 2 suppliers, and strategic partners.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for commercial discussions, RFQs, and contract negotiations.
- Lead business reviews and coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure customer satisfaction.
- Business Growth & Strategy
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities in line with company objectives and technology roadmaps (e.g., EV systems, ADAS, Connectivity etc.).
- Analyze market trends, competitive positioning, and customer needs to develop go-to-market strategies.
- Support the development of long-term strategic partnerships and joint ventures.
- Program and Reporting Management
- Collaborate with Program Management to track project status, revenue forecasts, and profitability.
- Report key business metrics (sales pipeline, RFQ status, win/loss analysis) to leadership.
- Support financial forecasting and annual business planning activities.
- Commercial & Contract Management
- Lead quotation preparation and pricing negotiations in line with cost targets and profitability goals.
- Coordinate with Finance, Legal, and Engineering for contract reviews and commercial agreements.
- Manage change requests and commercial claims as needed.
- Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or related field.
- Experience
- 4–8 years of experience in business development, sales, or key account management within the automotive Tier 1 environment.
- Proven track record of managing OEM or Tier 2 accounts or strategic partnerships.
- Strong understanding of automotive systems and manufacturing processes.
