We are seeking an interim CFO to provide steady leadership, integrate our newest locations, and maintain the financial health of the organization. Operating across multiple legal entities in the US and Canada, we are currently in a phase of strategic alignment following recent acquisitions.
The Role
The CFO will serve as the financial cornerstone of our US operations, reporting directly to our Canada-based CEO. This is not a "transformation" role; we aren't looking to overhaul our ERPs or reinvent our business model. This is a successful company seeking an experienced CFO to continue to ensure consistency and success.
The ideal candidate is a seasoned distribution & manufacturing executive who enjoys being "on the ground." You will travel frequently to locations across the US depending on needs:
Key Responsibilities
- Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor three entity-level Controllers (Tampa, Canada, and Louisville). Ensure the high-performing Tampa and Canadian teams stay motivated while providing additional support to the Louisville integration.
- Financial Reporting & Analysis: Manage the month-end close (currently a 5-day cycle) and provide comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly reporting to the CEO.
- Lender Relations: Act as the primary point of contact for lender reporting, ensuring all covenants and requirements are met with precision.
- Multi-Entity Consolidation: Oversee the consolidation of three legal entities with foreign currency complexities using Datarails.
- Integration Management: Provide leadership and "buy-in" support for the recently acquired Louisville location to ensure they are fully aligned with corporate standards and culture.
- FP&A Oversight: Work closely with the dedicated FP&A manager to leverage Datarails for forward-looking analysis and budget management.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 10+ years of progressive financial leadership, ideally within a high-volume distribution, retail, or e-commerce environment.
- Systems Fluency: Comfort working in a multi-ERP environment. Experience with SAP and Infor/Syteline is highly preferred. Proficiency in Datarails (or similar consolidation tools) is a plus.
- Operational Mindset: You understand the nuances of high-paced distribution (shipping speeds, inventory management) and "custom" product lines that don't involve traditional claims/recalls.
- Travel: Willingness to travel extensively to US and Canadian sites. Being based near a major airline hub is essential.
- Communication: Ability to bridge the gap between US operations and Canadian leadership, providing a clear, US-centric perspective on financial performance.
