hoichoi is India's leading Bengali OTT platform — the digital arm of SVF, Eastern India's largest regional media and entertainment company. We serve ~250 million Bengalis worldwide with 650+ films, 185+ originals, and 3,000+ hours of content. We're part of a broader ecosystem that includes Sooper (AI-led micro-drama OTT) and LoglineAI (AI-native creative studio). This role sits at the centre of all of it.

This role is the operating layer between the Founder and everything that needs to happen. You'll work directly with the Founder on a daily basis — managing the rhythm of the business, keeping strategic priorities on track, representing the organization with partners and clients, and making sure nothing important falls through the cracks.
It's part EA, part business operations, part commercial partner. On any given day you might be prepping a client meeting in the morning, tracking a cross-functional initiative in the afternoon, and synthesizing a competitive landscape brief in the evening. The common thread is that you're the person the Founder trusts to handle whatever needs handling — with the intelligence to know how, the communication skills to represent the office well externally, and the AI fluency to operate at a pace that would otherwise require twice the headcount.
The right person has done real operational work — not just coordination — and has a track record of being trusted with things that matter. You're comfortable in rooms with senior clients, comfortable with ambiguity, and genuinely enjoy the variety of a role that doesn't look the same two days in a row.
What you'll do
- Manage the Founder's priorities end-to-end — track strategic commitments, prepare briefings, own follow-through on decisions made in meetings, and ensure nothing important loses momentum between conversations.
- Serve as the first point of contact for select external stakeholders — clients, partners, distributors, and market contacts — representing the Founder's office with clarity, professionalism, and commercial awareness.
- Drive cross-functional business operations: own the tracking, coordination, and reporting cadence across teams — product, content, growth, marketing, and finance — so the Founder always has an accurate picture of what's moving and what's stuck.
- Lead and support strategic commercial initiatives — content licensing discussions, partnership negotiations, market expansion efforts, and new business conversations — from initial outreach through to structured proposal and follow-up.
- Prepare high-quality communication artefacts — client decks, briefing notes, strategic memos, board updates, and market-facing collateral — that are sharp, accurate, and require minimal revision.
- Use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude, Perplexity, Notion AI, and others) as your primary operating layer for research, synthesis, drafting, scheduling intelligence, and workflow automation — you're not using AI occasionally, you're using it to change what's possible in a day.
- Represent the organisation at external events, industry forums, and client meetings — including international content markets where relevant — with the confidence and context to hold substantive conversations on the Founder's behalf.
- Identify operational inefficiencies across business functions and build lightweight systems —trackers, templates, process playbooks, and automated workflows — that reduce friction and improve execution velocity.
- Stay current on industry and AI landscape: monitor competitors, track market developments, and bring relevant signals to the Founder proactively — before they're asked for.
Must-Have Qualifications
- 3–5 years of experience in business operations, executive support, GTM, or a closely related commercial role — with at least one period where you were working as a direct support to a senior leader or founder.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication — you can write a crisp executive briefing, hold your own in a client meeting, and represent an organisation's position accurately and confidently without needing a script.
- Genuine comfort in external, client-facing situations: you've managed partner or client relationships, attended industry events, or represented an organisation commercially — and you're energised by it, not drained.
- Strong operational instinct: you notice what's falling through the cracks, you build systems to prevent recurrence, and you follow through on commitments without being chased.
- AI-native by default: you use AI tools actively across research, drafting, analysis, and workflow automation — and you can demonstrate at least one example where AI meaningfully changed what you were able to produce or how fast you produced it.
- High discretion and professional maturity — this role operates in rooms and conversations with sensitive commercial and strategic information, and you exercise sharp judgement about what stays there.
- Comfort with ambiguity and context-switching: this role changes shape constantly, and you need to be energised rather than frustrated by that reality.
Good-to-Have
- Prior experience in media, entertainment, OTT, or a content-driven business —
- understanding of how the industry works, who the key players are, and what drives commercial relationships in this space.
- Exposure to international markets or cross-border business development — familiarity with the rhythm and etiquette of industry-facing commercial conversations.
- Experience building or managing AI-assisted operational workflows — automating reporting, document generation, research pipelines, or CRM processes — with measurable impact on team output.
