Ciena is seeking a student to contribute to operational excellence initiatives that support scalable, high‑quality service delivery for global customers. This 4‑month work term (September–December, with potential extension) offers hands‑on exposure to AI‑driven automation that improves efficiency and customer experience. The role follows a hybrid model with in‑office presence three days per week.
How You Will Make An Impact
- Design and develop automation solutions and workflows using Microsoft Copilot and Power Platform tools to reduce manual effort and improve operational efficiency.
- Analyze existing business processes to identify opportunities for optimization, standardization, and AI‑driven transformation.
- Build lightweight applications, dashboards, and scripts to enable operational reporting, insights, and decision‑making.
- Translate business requirements into scalable automation solutions in collaboration with cross‑functional teams.
- Apply data analysis and automation concepts to enhance service delivery performance.
The Must Haves
- Education: Completion of a 3rd‑ or 4th‑year undergraduate degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Business with an operations focus, or enrollment in a Master’s degree in one of these areas.
- Experience: Application of programming or scripting languages through coursework or prior work experience.
- Foundational knowledge of process improvement, data analysis, and automation concepts.
- Demonstrated logical thinking with a structured, process‑oriented approach to problem solving.
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to Microsoft Copilot, Power Automate, Power Apps, or similar AI and automation tools.
- Background in process improvement, workflow automation, or operations‑focused initiatives through coursework or prior work experience.
- Ability to communicate technical solutions in a way that aligns with business outcomes.
Pay Range
The hourly pay range for this position is $20.50 - $27.50
