Group Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
HLE Glascoat Ltd & Yash Group | Surat, India
The Opportunity
This is not a traditional CFO role.
It is an opportunity to shape the financial and strategic backbone of two evolving, high-potential business ecosystems — a listed global engineering company and a promoter-led chemicals platform — both at meaningful inflection points.
On one side is HLE Glascoat Ltd — a ₹1,300+ crore listed organization that has transformed itself into a globally respected process equipment player, with a growing cross-border footprint spanning India and Germany.
Within HLE Glascoat, four distinct P&L engines are at play:
- Kinam
- HLE Surface Technologies GmbH
- Thaletec GmbH
- HLE Glascoat Standalone
Each with its own rhythm, market reality, and value creation logic.
On the other side is the Yash Group — comprising Yashashvi Rasayan Private Limited and Yash Specialty Chemicals Pvt Ltd — a promoter-driven platform with investors closely aligned to long-term value creation.
Together, HLE Glascoat and the Yash Group represent a combined revenue base exceeding ₹1,700 crore, with significant headroom for scale, integration, and strategic expansion.
At the center of this sits the CFO.
The Role
You will not just “run finance.”
You will architect clarity in complexity — and bring the courage to back the right bets.
Reporting to the Group Directors, you will act as a strategic partner, integrator, and financial steward across both HLE Glascoat and the Yash Group.
Beyond stewardship, this role calls for an entrepreneurial mindset — the ability to identify opportunities, challenge conventional thinking, and actively enable growth.
You will not only evaluate decisions but also shape them — with a bias for value creation, not just risk containment.
This role demands the ability to move fluidly between:
- Public markets and promoter mindsets
- India and Europe
- Operational detail and strategic foresight
- Structure and ambiguity
You will shape how capital is allocated, how performance is understood, and how growth is pursued.
Someone who sees banking relationships not merely as operational or treasury-driven, but as a strategic lever for growth. The candidate should have hands-on experience in:
- Managing complex lender relationships
- Structuring financing arrangements
- Supporting growth, capex, and acquisitions through banking partnerships
- Driving working capital and liquidity management in dynamic business environments
What You Will Shape
A Unified Financial Lens Across Diverse Businesses
Bringing coherence across multiple P&Ls, geographies, and ownership structures — enabling sharper decision-making and capital efficiency.
Strategy into Outcomes
Working closely with the Directors to translate ambition into financial reality — and proactively surface opportunities for growth, investment, and value creation.
Cross-Border Integration
Strengthening the financial and operating alignment between Indian and German entities — not just through systems, but through shared understanding.
Governance with Credibility
Owning relationships with investors, auditors, and institutions — ensuring transparency without losing strategic flexibility.
A Modern Finance Function
Building a finance organization that is not backward-looking, but insight-driven — powered by data, analytics, and real-time decision support.
Enabling Entrepreneurial Energy with Financial Discipline
Bringing the balance between speed and structure — enabling business leaders to pursue opportunities while ensuring rigor in evaluation, execution, and capital allocation.
Who This Role Is For
This role is for a leader who:
- Brings an entrepreneurial orientation — sees opportunities where others see constraints, and is willing to back them with conviction
- Sees finance not as control, but as enabling intelligent risk-taking
- Is equally comfortable in a boardroom and in a plant review
- Can influence without authority, especially in promoter-led contexts
- Understands that numbers tell a story — and can shape that narrative
- Has the maturity to hold complexity without rushing to simplify it prematurely
- Balances risk and ambition — knows when to protect and when to push
You have likely:
- Led finance in a scaled, multi-entity environment, ideally with global exposure
- Navigated moments of transformation — M&A, integration, or rapid growth
- Built or evolved finance teams into strategic partners
Why This Role Matters
Both HLE Glascoat and the Yash Group are entering phases where the quality of financial thinking will directly shape the quality of growth.
This is a chance to:
- Influence capital allocation across businesses
- Build bridges across cultures and ownership structures
- Institutionalize practices that will endure beyond individuals
In many ways, this role is about creating the financial architecture for the next decade of growth.
In Essence
You are not just the custodian of numbers.
You are the co-creator of direction, discipline, and long-term value — balancing entrepreneurial ambition with financial rigor.
