Role Description The Chief Revenue Officer (CRO) is a full-time, hybrid role based in New York, NY, with flexibility for some work from home. This role leads the development and execution of Basta’s revenue strategy across employer partnerships, philanthropic funding, and other revenue streams. Day-to-day responsibilities include overseeing lead generation efforts, managing key accounts and relationships, and guiding the sales cycle from prospecting through closing and renewal. The CRO will collaborate with program, marketing, and operations teams to align revenue goals with organizational impact, optimize sales operations, and create data-driven forecasts and reports for senior leadership. This role also involves strategic planning, team leadership, and continuous improvement of processes to ensure sustainable growth and deepen Basta’s reach and influence.
Qualifications
- Demonstrated expertise in Sales and Lead Generation to build, manage, and convert a robust pipeline of prospective partners and funders.
- Strong Account Management and relationship-building skills to nurture long-term partnerships with employers, donors, and institutional collaborators.
- Experience in Strategic Planning and Sales Operations to design scalable revenue strategies, implement effective processes, and use data for decision-making.
- Proven success in a senior revenue, business development, or fundraising leadership role, ideally in the nonprofit, social impact, or education sectors.
- Ability to lead, mentor, and develop high-performing cross-functional teams while fostering an inclusive, mission-driven culture.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with comfort engaging executive-level stakeholders and diverse partners.
- Strong analytical skills, including proficiency with CRM tools and revenue reporting; experience with forecasting and budgeting is highly beneficial.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in business, nonprofit management, or a related field; advanced degree is a plus but not required.
