Atrium is seeking on behalf of our client a CFO based in New York, NY.

Position: CFO (and / or Controller)
Location: New York, NY / Downtown / In-Office
Employment Type: Full-time
$175,000-225,000 base salary + bonus
Position Overview
The CFO will lead the financial strategy and operations for a rapidly growing luxury apparel brand. This role involves overseeing all accounting functions, implementing scalable financial processes, and partnering closely with the CEO to drive strategic growth initiatives. The ideal candidate will thrive in a dynamic, founder-led environment and be comfortable balancing hands-on responsibilities with high-level planning. Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Oversee all accounting operations, including month-end close, budgeting, and financial reporting
- Manage AP/AR processes and ensure accurate and timely financial transactions
- Lead the transition from QuickBooks to RLM and optimize financial systems for scalability
- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
- Partner with the CEO on forecasting, business planning, and strategic decision-making
- Build and mentor a finance team as the company continues to grow
Required Experience/Skills
- Proven experience as a Controller or CFO in a scaling business environment
- Strong background in wholesale and direct-to-consumer (DTC) apparel finance
- Hands-on accounting leadership with the ability to manage both strategy and execution
- Proficiency with RLM or similar ERP systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with founders and executive teams
Preferred Experience/Skills
- Experience leading finance functions in a luxury or high-growth retail brand
- Track record of implementing financial systems and process improvements
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
- Strategic mindset with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Previous experience managing international expansion and multi-entity structures
Education Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required
- CPA or MBA strongly preferred
- Advanced knowledge of GAAP and financial compliance standards
- Continuing education in financial leadership or strategic management is a plus
