Our client, a rapidly growing P/E backed Commercial/Residential Services organization, is seeking a hands-on Chief Financial Officer to strengthen its multi-entity, multi-state accounting functions.
The CFO will focus on stabilizing the team, improving close and reporting accuracy, building scalable processes, and overseeing revenue recognition for insurance-funded restoration work.
This leader will partner closely with the CEO, COO, operating leaders, private equity stakeholders, and acquired business owners while driving financial discipline and accountability.
Accounting & Financial Leadership:
- Lead the accounting and finance function across a growing, multi-entity organization.
- Own the monthly, quarterly, and annual close process, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
- Ensure financial statements and accounting practices comply with U.S. GAAP.
- Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies, and scalable financial processes.
- Serve as the company’s technical accounting leader and oversee the annual external audit.
- Improve cash visibility, financial governance, and reporting accuracy.
Revenue Recognition & Project Accounting:
- Establish consistent revenue-recognition practices for insurance-funded restoration work.
- Ensure the proper accounting treatment of short-duration emergency mitigation projects and longer-term reconstruction work.
- Partner with operations to accurately account for project estimates, insurance approvals, supplements, billing, collections, work in progress, and related project costs.
- Ensure insurance-related revenue and project costs are accurately reflected in the general ledger and financial statements.
- Improve visibility into project profitability, margins, cash flow, and financial performance.
Business Partnership & Financial Governance:
- Develop practical KPIs and reporting tools that improve visibility into business performance.
- Build credibility with acquired business owners while implementing consistent financial discipline and accountability.
Tax, Compliance & Integration:
- Oversee federal, state, and local tax compliance across multiple states in partnership with external advisors.
- Manage lender reporting and other financial compliance requirements.
- Support the financial integration of acquired businesses.

Required Qualifications:
- Strong technical accounting background with deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP.
- Proven experience leading month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes.
- Experience improving the accuracy and timeliness of financial reporting.
- Demonstrated success building, developing, or stabilizing accounting teams.
- Revenue-recognition and project-accounting experience within restoration, construction, insurance-funded services, or another project-based environment.
- Understanding of how insurance claims, estimates, supplements, approvals, billing, collections, and project completion affect revenue recognition.
- Experience overseeing external audits and multi-state tax compliance.
- Strong knowledge of internal controls, financial governance, and accounting policies.
- Experience within a multi-entity or multi-location organization.
- Ability to operate effectively in a lean, rapidly changing environment.
- Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Willingness to remain hands-on and work directly in the accounting details when necessary.
Salary Range: 190-210K+Bonus+ Equity
