Chief Financial Officer
Melbourne | Iconic Australian Consumer Brand
The Opportunity
We are partnering with an iconic Australian consumer brand entering an exciting new phase of growth.
With a highly recognisable brand, loyal customer following and strong financial foundations, the business is focused on accelerating sustainable growth, strengthening commercial performance and investing in the capabilities that will shape its future.
Backed by an international parent and private equity ownership, the organisation combines the heritage of an established brand with the ambition and pace of a modern growth business.
This is not a traditional CFO appointment.
Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you will become one of their closest strategic partners and a key member of the Executive Leadership Team. Beyond financial stewardship, you will help shape strategy, challenge and support commercial decisions, evaluate investment opportunities and drive the organisation's long-term value creation agenda.
Your remit extends beyond Finance to include Technology, Procurement, Property, Governance and Risk, providing significant influence across the organisation.
The business is also investing in technology, data, automation and AI to improve decision-making, productivity and commercial performance. The CFO will play an important role in ensuring those investments translate into measurable business value.
The Role
Your mandate will include:
- Acting as a trusted adviser and commercial partner to the Managing Director.
- Shaping enterprise strategy, investment priorities and capital allocation.
- Leading Finance, Technology, Procurement, Property, Governance and Risk.
- Driving the organisation's Value Creation Plan and profitable growth agenda.
- Continuing to evolve Finance through stronger commercial partnering, technology and automation.
- Building high-performing teams and influencing effectively across local and international stakeholders.
About You
We are looking for an established CFO with significant brick-and-mortar retail experience and a track record of operating as a genuine enterprise leader.
You understand the commercial realities of multi-site retail, including trading performance, store economics, inventory, property, customer experience and capital investment. More importantly, you can translate that understanding into better enterprise decisions.
You will bring a proven record of partnering closely with a CEO or Managing Director, leading functions beyond Finance and influencing Boards, executives and international stakeholders.
You will have strong commercial judgement, executive presence and the confidence to challenge constructively when required.
You will also be curious about the potential of technology, data and AI, while remaining pragmatic about where these capabilities can create genuine commercial value.
Above all, you will be an enterprise leader who happens to be an exceptional CFO: commercially minded, intellectually curious and motivated by the opportunity to help shape the next chapter of an outstanding consumer business.
