CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER / HEAD OF FINANCE
Location: Long Island, NY | Work Arrangement: Hybrid
Base Salary: $200,000–$250,000 + performance-based bonus
The Opportunity
A growing, established consumer products and manufacturing company is seeking an accomplished, commercially minded CFO/Head of Finance to lead the next stage of growth. This executive will serve as a strategic partner to the CEO and ownership team, overseeing Finance, Accounting, FP&A and HR while driving financial performance across manufacturing, inventory, distribution, wholesale, e-commerce and retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead a lean Finance, Accounting, FP&A and HR organization.
- Partner with the CEO and ownership on strategy, performance, risks and capital allocation.
- Own budgeting, forecasting, long-range planning, cash flow and working capital management.
- Drive profitability analysis across products, customers and sales channels.
- Oversee inventory, product costing, COGS, gross margin, purchasing and supply-chain economics.
- Maintain strong accounting, reporting, controls, audit, tax, banking and risk-management processes.
- Develop executive dashboards, KPIs and financial reporting to support decision-making.
- Optimize financial systems, automation and data integrity; NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
- Partner with Operations, Sales, Marketing and Technology on business growth and operational initiatives.
- Manage key external relationships, including banking, insurance, accounting, legal and PEO partners.
- Evaluate capital expenditures, channel expansion and other strategic investments.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of progressive finance leadership experience, including CFO, VP Finance, Controller or comparable executive experience.
- Significant experience within consumer products, manufacturing, distribution, wholesale or retail.
- Strong FP&A, forecasting, cash flow, working capital and profitability expertise.
- Deep understanding of inventory, product costing, COGS, gross margin, purchasing and supply chain.
- Experience managing businesses across multiple channels, including wholesale, e-commerce/DTC and retail.
- International trade/importing experience preferred.
- Strong executive presence with the ability to advise ownership and senior leadership.
- Experience modernizing financial systems and processes; Oracle NetSuite strongly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred.

They should be comfortable in a hands-on, middle-market environment, capable of bringing structure without bureaucracy, challenging assumptions constructively and taking ownership of initiatives from strategy through implementation.
